Not sure what constitutes 'Best Bass Solo', but i like this one for being musical and melodic. Marcus Miller Fretless solo on 'Friends & Strangers'.. I believe he was in his late teens when he played it. Its from the Album 'Mountain Dance' with Dave Grusin. Not a hundred notes a minute, but it is incredibly Lyrical. Bass solo at about 02:50 Bit of a bum bandit album cover though. Garry

Same sort of sound and playing style as of Bob Glaub. He did the album with Hot Stuff and Bad Girls..so maybe him, just a guess though. Its really hard to track down the Musician credits on a lot of the 70's stuff. Garry

Looks like you are sorted... There was a guy who used to set up Marcus Millers Basses, he could sing a bit as well - top guy.. His name was Luthier Vandross. There is always Robbie of RIM Basses.. He is in Luton. Garry
