I cut mine down to only Two. [Well three, Charlie Parker Omni book in Bass clef] Mark Levine & Samual Adler. The Samual Adler book is ongoing for me. Mark Levine book i poke into every now and then. I seem to get more out of transcribing these days. Garry

As a freelancer, for me my essentials are.... Volume pedal, Sans Amp DI, Tuner. I have the rest, Chorus, Octave pedal etc. But will only take or use them if i know they are [really] needed. I keep it lean and clean and as less fussy as i can, mainly because its then a hassle free time with the engineer. Garry

'Magic' Musical moments in pop history - I was talking to someone yesterday about that very thing. Something magical to ones self is not always magical to others. I think that chord unites everyone and goes down in Music folk law. Would be interesting to see what other 'moments' people on this forum can come up with. Garry
So, now we know. Its G, C F A and D. In theoretical terms its a voicing of a F6/9 chord (F, G, A, C and D = i, III, V, VI & II (IX)). Paul played the D, which is the relative minor.
So its a case of how many Beatles does it take to play a Jazz chord [D Minor7 add 11] ? Garry

More you buy cheaper they are as well. I've been using them for all batteries for about 18 months now. Generally arrive within 2 days, often next day and usually free delivery too!
Thanks for the link, going to order some stuff later. It also looks a handy place to get tools for the Cat Burglar business. Garry
Buying a bass is a bit like making love to a beautiful woman. Only go with the ones you like, for whatever you reason you like them... When you go off them for whatever reason, pass them on.
Beer goggles John. Garry -
Thanks everyone. I think I'll go with the Presonus. We have an 8 input Saffire for "bigger" recordings. i'm not overly concerned with vocals, since I'll be mainly doing instrumentals/sketches to share with the band. I like the idea of Cubase LE too (which is bundled) since we do most of our mixing/production in Cubase proper.
Is it not their own DAW [Studio One] bundled with the Presonus ? Garry

The [original fake book] standards where usually from Hollywood & Broadway show tunes, Tin pan alley etc. Pop tunes of the time. Or as the Americans call it - The great American song book.... Garry -
Wow, it really looks like that for the price, there anything that can beat it! Thanks for the tip, this might well have to be purchased...
It's a great little box. As a bonus it comes with a version of Studio One, A total gapless Daw - it might turn your head a bit and turn you on to the full version.... It really is the easiest DAW of them all to use. Another great unit to recommend... Roland Quad Capture.
Another of my favourite tracks is called 'Take for example this' from a Billy Childs album recorded in the late 80's early 90's. Awesome stuff. check out this video of JJ playing with Lee Ritenour, great groove and a very nice solo around 2.20. I love his bass sound it has a really zingy feel to it.
Good stuff, The late great Carlos Vega on drums as well. Garry
