1.
So, now we know. Its G, C F A and D. In theoretical terms its a voicing of a F6/9 chord (F, G, A, C and D = i, III, V, VI & II (IX)). Paul played the D, which is the relative minor.
So its a case of how many Beatles does it take to play a Jazz chord [D Minor7 add 11] ? Garry

 14.
Thanks everyone. I think I'll go with the Presonus. We have an 8 input Saffire for "bigger" recordings. i'm not overly concerned with vocals, since I'll be mainly doing instrumentals/sketches to share with the band. I like the idea of Cubase LE too (which is bundled) since we do most of our mixing/production in Cubase proper.
Is it not their own DAW [Studio One] bundled with the Presonus ? Garry
 15. The [original fake book] standards where usually from Hollywood & Broadway show tunes, Tin pan alley etc. Pop tunes of the time. Or as the Americans call it - The great American song book.... Garry
 16.
Wow, it really looks like that for the price, there anything that can beat it! Thanks for the tip, this might well have to be purchased...
It's a great little box. As a bonus it comes with a version of Studio One, A total gapless Daw - it might turn your head a bit and turn you on to the full version.... It really is the easiest DAW of them all to use. Another great unit to recommend... Roland Quad Capture. 17.
Lee always puts amazing bands together. Check this one out, Abe Laboriel on bass and Perry singing, absolutely amazing stuff.
LR & Dave Grusin video with Abe Laboriel is another good one. Garry
 18.
Another of my favourite tracks is called 'Take for example this' from a Billy Childs album recorded in the late 80's early 90's. Awesome stuff. check out this video of JJ playing with Lee Ritenour, great groove and a very nice solo around 2.20. I love his bass sound it has a really zingy feel to it.
Good stuff, The late great Carlos Vega on drums as well. Garry

 23.
sadly this thing is probably going to put band in a box and Jamey Aebersold out of business.... this is the best £5.49 you'll ever spend
Band in the box ain't no great loss, But JA, I kinda grew up with all his stuff, and it would be sad. He feels like a member of my family. Garry
 24. There are quite a few free Midi Jazz standards knocking around the net, Some not so good, and some are excellent. You can then play them back in your DAW, at any Tempo and any Key. Good for practise and learning, and taking on board changes. A couple to get along with [Real book related] http://midiworld.com/jazz.htm http://mysite.verizon.net/reso4wg2/freejazzmidifiles/ Garry
 25. If you are used to playing venues & pubs to few or no people, Jazz will be right up your Strasse. Unless i have been unlucky. Garry
