  1. There's this official tripod : https://thinkns.com/accessory/nxt-tripod-stands/ Or this conversion kit that will allow you to use the more adaptable CR tripod : https://thinkns.com/accessory/the-end-pin-stand-conversion-kit/ I used to play a CR model sitting, because of a broken back, with the CR tripod and it was working fine.
  2. The internal combustion engine still used today invented by the local (to me) Belgian Etienne LENOIR. And certainly the most polluting idea ever !
  3. The CD invented by Philips in Holland, not Sony in Japan.
  4. Earlier AER One, Two, Three and BassCube didn't have a fan, but a heatsink almost the size of the back of the combo. The next generation had a small dead silent temperature controlled fan : full German quality ! I'm only using dead silent fan or no fan amps or combos as I really can't stand added noise when I'm playing. The Glockenklang fans make a hell of a noise when starting and are then dead quiet. The Warwick LWA 1000 has a very small fan that I've never heard or seen running. The worst amp with fans was the Hartke LH series : noisier than a jet at take off and some (deaf) people pretend these heads are quiet ! 😱
  5. And with the usual Brits successful story : "Another early proponent of the concept was Geoffrey Dummer (1909–2002), a radar scientist working for the Royal Radar Establishment of the British Ministry of Defence. Dummer presented the idea to the public at the Symposium on Progress in Quality Electronic Components in Washington, D.C. on 7 May 1952.[7] He gave many symposia publicly to propagate his ideas and unsuccessfully attempted to build such a circuit in 1956." Meanwhile, in the Silicon Valley : "Newly employed by Texas Instruments, Jack Kilby recorded his initial ideas concerning the integrated circuit in July 1958, successfully demonstrating the first working example of an integrated circuit on 12 September 1958. In his patent application of 6 February 1959, Kilby described his new device as "a body of semiconductor material … wherein all the components of the electronic circuit are completely integrated"." Nice try @Fingul !
  6. Good ol' collaboration. 😎
  7. Indeed, it's the Americans in Silicon Valley. 😜

  9. What's a bitcion ? A Spanish word for a little bit ?
  10. The earth is flat, the Covid-19 doesn't exist and the sun rotates around the earth.
  11. Hearing Deficient Person is another good name for these people, especially in all rock genres. Or even and very often Sound Inventor is the right name as what they do is absolutely not faithful to what they are supposed to hear and reproduce. This is the main reason why I no longer go to rock concerts anymore : I'm really fed up by these deaf people pretending to be Sound Engineers. I'll go for Sound Destroyer.
  12. Even if it's hot, never blow on a ... hot solder as it's the best way to get what is called a "dry solder" meaning intermittent contact and big issues : a nightmare to find the origin afterwards when you don't know it...
  13. Used to be mine, 2 years ago IIRC, and the little "crack" in the lacquer was already there. GLWYS.
  14. Checked and I love it. That said, the cellist with the decorated cello is also in DakhaBrakha. 😉
  15. @Jus Lukin : It's the same in Belgium, you keep your full name when married. So I am Mr Hellzero and my wife is still Mrs Lololita for all legal uses and any other, but we are (or should be called) Mr AND Mrs Hellzero-Lololita when we are both mentioned, even if the maiden name is not always said. And she can't be called Miss anymore as it has become illegal over here in Belgium for sectarianism reasons. So every girl (sorry but I hate the term female) is now a Mrs, being married or not, young or old.
  16. Ukrainian music is very immersive. Singers are often very impressive too. Try DakhaBrakha !
  17. @Reggaebass Last year I bought an Ibanez EHB1505 (five strings version) : it is a very light and ergonomic bass, very dynamic with more options than needed, excellent Nordstrand pickups and typical Ibanez Vari-mid preamp (very good, in fact). The neck is a pleasure to play and the workmanship is flawless. It's now gone to a friend as I have a long love/hate affair with fivers... But I am the problem, not the bass.
  18. Indeed, but it's a bit non legal as it's already more than inspired by the Paul Bigsby design that has been inspired by an Austrian design from Johann Georg Stauffer made around 1820... Funnily, the Stauffer design has been used by his student : Christian Frederick Martin (yes the founder of Martin guitars) and can be seen on early US Martin guitars. Stauffer : Bigsby to Fender : And here, the precision tuning system invented by Stauffer, way ahead of its time : With these photos and historical proof, plus a good lawyer, you'll win.
  19. Headless basses are very often more ergonomic too. My favourite design is the Leduc. And no, my name is not Paul. I bought it second hand to the original owner named ... Paul. That said (old) Bogart and Le Fay approach to headless basses is also interesting. My Le Fay is called Right Hand Tuning (RHT), see below and you'll understand why.
  20. So, you started a franchise ?
  21. Long story short : I once sold an early Squier Vintage Modified 70's Jazz Bass to a friend. It was really excellent sounding, way better than a lot of original ones. He started to use it in the different bands he was in and at the conservatory where he was studying. People were always telling him to get a decent bass : Buy a real Fender was what he was always told. So one day he put a fake Fender logo on it and a different pickguard (scratchplate for the others) : Suddenly it became an astounding bass and he got complimented for his sound. 🤦‍♂️ Sad but true.
  22. Yep. Exactly what ∆∆ they said. 👌👍
  23. Sh*t happens, looks like you're doomed now ! 🤣
  24. Careful with the Rolex watches Douglas, Chris is reading. 🤔🤣
  25. I can make you a screwed in Belgium.
