would love to order another mk2 5 fretless with walnut faces ... unfortunately, not only the pound lost some of its force - the euro, too.

He reckons it to be a freak tiredness of the plastic housing. It was the part of the PU with the spring under the screw where you can alter the height of the overall PU (see pic). The plastic just surrendered to the increased pressure of the spring and screw and just broke in two. I guess Paul justed replaced the housing.

phew - just paid for the refin and service, plus shipping ... 1350GBP. But it's definately worth it. Wouldn't have let anybody else but Paul Herman touch that Wal. Can't wait to play the bass again

Hey dood, I run my Wals into the Symmetry, then into and MXR bass envelope, then into the Darkglass Vintage, into the B3K and then into an MXR Bass Chorus and a Carbon copy. Formerly I also had a Duality in front of the Vintage, but that was just too much going into a Mesa Walkabout w/ two 1x15" Diesel cabs ... I found that pairing the vintage with the b3k is the way to go for me and my (Rock)band. ta Oliver

BTW, I just spoke with Paul Herman to have my white 2010 Moby Dick MKII refinished in all black very soon - so the funky white will turn into a black rock machine w/ gold hardware - yeah!!

[/quote] Hi Rob et al! I'd advice you not to go for that 1996 sixer since maybe it still has a dead note on its fingerboard. I owned it a couple of years ago and it then came from its original owner in Germany, telling me that Pete Stevens had had a hard time with that one. It first had a fretless board which warped, so it was exchanged for a new one at the German owner's cost (!). The second board then showed a dead spot. I don't know about the exact current condition, but from the piccies it seems as if it's still the same fretless board with the dead note. Maybe Jens as the first owner could shed some light on that one? ta Oliver

Great to see the shedua fretless in full bloom - it was in that worn down state when I got it out of an evil bay deal as you will remember. Seems Mr Eyb is a great luthier.
