I tried the standard Rat effect with my P bass and loved the sound apart from the suck out of bass and lack of clean blend. I've considered the Fat version to add some bottom but would still like a clean blend. Can you guys please help........ What effects pedals are Rat based with no loss of bottom end and have a clean blend. Many thanks.

Unfortunately I really can't get on with Ashdown heads. Everyone I had sounded simply wrong 😭. I play an Ashdown Arc bass and that is fantastic. I can highly recommend GK. How about a GK 2001RB ?

I will throw this into the ring... Atomic Bass Box. Has... Di, 4 band eq, compressor, boost / overdrive and finally 3 memories for amp and speaker ir's. Love mine.

How about an Ashdown Arc. Mine has an amazing oiled neck. Much better than a gloss neck IMHO.

Me playing a 6 string fretless P bass made by Shuker. Played just like a fretted bass if the action was above 2mm.

In my experience I would put the choices down to Glockenklang for a transparent sound or a Bartolini for a musically coloured sound. Lots of choice unfortunately. These are my two favourite on board preamps.
