  1. The book is really good. Well worth getting. Not a Spector, but I got my jazz bass out after seeing the first vid.
  2. Guy has just posted Like a prayer.
  3. And the bugger makes it look so easy 🤔
  4. This is quite funny, and very true, especially the intro’s bit.
  5. Thanks for the explanation. Makes perfect sense. I’d use it the same way.
  6. Yes, the book has quite a few of those ‘ah, so it was Guy’ moments in it. Love the book. It’s the only book ive read twice in the past 20 years. Also agree about Pulse. I downloaded it after reading the book, as I’m not really a PF fan, and its an album i put on when i want to relax.
  7. Cool story. I recently watched it all again on YT. Its one of my fav TV series. Love the interaction between the band members, and the music is great. Luckily I brought the CD when it first came out, doesn’t seem to be available now.
  8. This, and The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star was when i first became away of Guy. I still have both albums on my phone.
  9. New video posted today. Still not showing any bass stuff.
  10. Always been a fan of Guy’s. Very good feel to his playing. I started following him on FB recently and been waiting for todays YT video. Also a fan of the Jimmy Nail Album so this is a great first vid. Might just have been me but his ‘bass face’ Reminded me of Tim Starace (YYNot).
  11. Cheers guys. I’m finding it hard to have any GAS while in lockdown. With no band or gigs in the immediate future ive sort of lost interest in gear as such. Once things start to get back to normal this is top of the list of things to try.
  12. Ok, this is really pushing me in the right direction now. Am i right in thinking the pedal doesn’t have amp sims as such, and that the presets In the manual are just EQ variations to simulate the named rig?
  13. I really dont know why people knock Bob. He did an amazing job re launching the careers of many washed up bands/pop stars, and the whole time suffered a huge lack of (any) talent. Give the bloke a break 😀
  14. True, but he has a point. At least for me. Give me someone keeping a tight groove going anytime over all that show off stuff that seems to only be there to prove a point. They can all do it of course, but its knowing when to do it, and when not to do the ‘look how many notes I can play slightly out of time with the song using moire notes than my bass actuator has’ bass lines. That noise Jaco made with his bass is one of the most annoying bass tones ive ever heard. Cant listen to him for more than....just cant listen to him at all actually. Obviously just my opinion of course.
  15. 🥱🥱🥱🥱 😄
  16. Yeah i get that. BB is a house hold, celeb name, so it’s obvious people will be familiar with his work. Not knocking BB but ts not a fair compassion. Then again, BB does what he does and its got him where he is. To be fair, i don’t really care Victor Wooten’s style or playing either.
  17. I agree about the BB king bit. I also thought ‘hmmmm’. Not a fair comparison, and although I understood the point, I didn’t think it was put as well as it could have been. To be fair though, off the top of my head i cant name one track Alan Holdworth plays on (although i know I’m aware of them). I know the name, but never really been interested in him.
  18. At least you wouldn’t need to worry about any close social interaction 😂
  19. STOP!!!! 😂
  20. Cool. I’m in no doubt that even if i used the same tones as Tim I’d never sound like him. Need to hear some cleaner tone videos before my interest is raised. So far ive not heard anything i probably couldn’t get with the gear i have, although i love the form factor of this.
  21. Just thought I’d reanimate this thread. Although i dont really have GAS for this right now, i love the tone in this video. There are a few that Tim has done on YT, but as much as i like what i hear those tones wouldn’t really work for me.
  22. I personally have not used any of the free ones. I find they look quite intimidating compared to the paid for ones. This is just my limited experience though. On my PC i have Sonar and Adobe Auditon, which i know well enough, but last year I brought a cheap Zoom R8 recorder. Its more like a digital Portastudio. This does me for messing about at home, and has a built in drum machine/amp sims etc.
  23. Well you probably now have the time to change that 😉
  24. My first thought would be to try the Stomp using its own PSU. If you get the Stomp working fine then you could add back in the others one at a time, using the Cioks for the others to see when the noise starts. Could also just be your wiring at home etc.
