1. Mine is when i get home and my GF says "hi, i thought i would wait up for you". Gets me every time :-(
2.
Is the Wooten slap thing really boring? Or, is it me being grumpy?
Like watching paint dry, only more disappointing, same goes for Jaco. Both fantastic players, no doubt about it, but they send me top sleep when i hear them "noodling" out of a band/song context.
3. Can you smuggle back a MarkBass F500 for me please ;-)
4. This wire is to go in a P-Retro so i needed it longer than the stock length that just went to the old jack socket.
5. Thanks BB. I ended up getting way to much but it only cost me 99p from the bargain bucket so i cant complain.
6. Thanks. It all went well and hopefully in a few days once the soreness has gone ill be back to normal.
7. Funny enough I've been in hospital getting a kidney stone removed today. It's amazing what they managed to get up me without making any new holes :-0
8. Thanks John, that's what I was thinking. Looking at the bit I've taken out it does look very cheap and thin. Guess that's all that's needed.
9. Cheers John, very, very kind of you but I need it tomorrow so will have to go and buy a lot more than I need by the looks of it.
10. I'm sure it's fine but the ground wire is something I've never had to change before. I need a longer length than the piece I have in there now. I've looked around at home and can't find any spare wire and need to get some ASAP http://www.maplin.co.uk/equipment-wire-7-0.2-6192 Cheers.
11. Trying to post a reply, with an image, in Off topic and although the post went through i got the following error immediately after. 405 Not Allowed nginx/0.8.54 I also find that a lot of my posts get made ok but my browser never returns me to the thread page, it just sits there as though its still making the post.
12. I think my problem is/was that i only ever want/need one bass. So when GAS has struck its one in one out. If the new one doesnt tick enough boxes i start again. When i ran out of money i was forced to stick with what i have, and now im so used to this bass its making any other purchases seem pointless. I guess if i had a need for other basses, or just liked collecting them things would be different, but IMO a P or Jazz bass will do everything ill ever need, other than fretless. Im saving that for when i retire.
13. I do love my bas, although im still not 1005 on the colour. Ive finally found a bass that while it doesn't stop GAS, it does stop me actually buying something else once i weigh up the pros and cons. Its been a long time coming but after spending £1000's on basses over the past 8 years i really cant fault my Squier CVP (or what's left of it). I recently had the chance to get a new bass (fresh new CC, it would have been rude not to use it) and looked at a few basses that i was GAS'ing for on here but i really couldnt see any advantage over what i have already.
14. Same here. Im getting un subscribed to my followed thread as the others are.
15. I hope this sells soon. I keep coming back in here to look at it and thats not good news lol.
16. I can help with that. Here is the Lakland page with full spec's. http://www.lakland.com/44-02.htm
17. Thanks for the rely. This is a bass ive been looking at for a few years but have never actually wanted one (i had a 55-01) Maybe now's the time to change that, although im torn between this and the 5 string version on here. Good luck with the sale, with the U-Retro im sure this will be snapped up quickly.
18. Can i ask if the Lakland Pre has selectable mid freq's?
19.
I did :-( with a ray34ca, it had to go back, the neck/frets were a wavy mess that wouldn't set up and rattled no matter what you did. Gutted
Yeah, it think it was your post on TB that i remember.
The neck appears to be based on the MM Sterling, SLO Special Stingray and Big Al design - there are not issues of this type with those basses and I've personally not heard of issues with these - they seem to get praised by most people. Have you tried a Sub SBMM - half the price and sounds very Stingray to me - the walnut one looks particularly good - they appear to have a narrower neck profile also (not sure if it's the Ray 34CA profile though).
Thanks. I do like the look of the new SUB's, and yes, that Walnut one looks very good (not sure its available over here, although im sure someone else will) but i like the idea of a tinted glossy neck with vintage frets rather than satin finish with med. Jumbos frets.
20. Cheers Fran. Seen it, and the others, even the German one . Now stop tempting me and make me see sense (and no, that doesn't mean the Sandberg lol).
I had a CA in sunburst with the maple neck and the bass was spot on. I changed the tuners for Schaller ones but the stock ones were fine. I never noticed any problems with the neck and as I very rarely used the G string, I didn`t notice if it was weak.
Good to know. Im sure the majority are fine. I remember thinking this might be a bit liek the MIM Geddy Jazz neck. A few people have said its too thin and bows too much but on the whole they are fine.
21. Cheers guys. I am really only interested in the CA version. I was more that happy with my old Ray34 other than i felt the neck a bit uncomfortable. I did find the G to be a bit weak and changed the pup for a Nordstrand. That helped a bit.
22. Oh, that reminds me of the weak G sting issue. Hmmm, not sure now.
23. Oh, the P and Jazz aren't going anywhere. Fran is right, i have GAS rather than need but the Ray34 CA is a bass that ticks every box other than price. Also want the Sterling thats on here, and the 55-02 in the link above lol.
24. Even worse, tempted by Jimi's 55-02 :-( http://basschat.co.uk/topic/186687-lakland-skyline-55-02-deluxe/
25. ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss :-(
