  1. Pretty much how i feel about most of the legends. They used what was available at the time, but given the choice who knows what they wouldst have ended up playing. Anyway, not a fan of Jaco's music at all.
  2. Is this the bloke that everyone says didn't need 5/6/7 strings 🙂
  3. Yeah, on the Zoom i get a sort of chorus effect, even at 100%. The Helix is so much better, even if it's boot 100% perfect.
  4. A public forum is meant to be somewhere people can share their views. There is an unsubscribe button at the top if anyone needs it. I'm not quick to slag this crap off, ive never liked it and dont see the attraction. It's like elevator music for the 21st century.
  5. Cool. I used the pitch shift with the band for the first time the other night. Just half a step down when we were trying different keys out, and like you say, not really noticeable most of the time. Thanks for that. Yep, your right. This photo has really helped as well as ive been looking for a real life size comparison.
  6. Michael Kiwanuka is definitely the highlight of the show for me, and ive never heard of him before. Cant believe Jools had a say in any of the rap stuff. What a shower of s##t that stuff is. Ive just turned over from watching the last concert Black Sabbeth did on Sky Arts. Geezer was playing his lovely looking Lakland PJ. Getting a bit of GAS for one of those.
  7. Nice one, thanks. I'll measure my Stomp in the morning. I have a feeling/hoping its a bit narrower. How are you getting on with your FX?
  8. Can anyone tell me if the foot switches on the Helix Effects are the same distance apart as the Stomp? My large feet keep hitting two at once on my Stomp, just wonder if the Effects will be the same, as im considering getting that to replace the Stomp.
  9. When does yours arrive?
  10. Well as you know, i have no issue with that 😎
  11. True, but if i don't like it i can get 100% back if brought over here. Ive never had faulty equipment from abroad, other than Thomann's, but i can imagine its not a 5 day fix if you have to go through PP etc.
  12. Harder to send back though....
  13. Im not one to wait, so i might meet halfway and pre order from G4M for £349, expected delivery 8-12 Nov.
  14. In the past Andertons always seemed to be first with pre orders, but always at full price.
  15. Its rock 'n' roll innit? How much more Black can it be........
  16. Yes, i posted this (from GAK) in the other Helix thread. There is also a blue version out there as well. Prefer Black though.
  17. Pretty sure this has been posted before, but its too good to not post again. Shame about the audio being low.
  18. Thats what happens when you flash your donkey on live TV (her, not you lol)
  19. Oh yeah, i forgot i had one of those. Loved it, but found it painful to play for too long.
  20. I use these all the time at home, and i'd agree with the above statement. I got a pair of Ashdown Meteors for Christmas, was recommended them and they were on off at HMV. Cant stand them. Too boomy to the point of swamping the low notes, and thats without the EQ on. The HD25's by comparison seem very clear and handle low notes very well.
  21. Ive had a couple of Lakland Duck Dunn's, a DJ5 and a MM Sire V7. Never bothered me who's name was on it, i went for the specs and look.
  22. Yes. At the moment, at home, i use the BDDI, sometimes with an IR. I also have the BDDI programmed in to all the patches, but not on. So far with the BB800 i dont feel the need for it. I have used the Stomp with the BDDI and it sounded great. I cant think of a time i would want to use one of the proper Amp sims.
  23. No, ive asked about that as well. When you drop a new effect in it always seems to default to the stock settings. I ended up having one patch with 6 of the effects im most likely to use, all tweaked, and i can just copy and paste these in to the relevant Patches if and when i need to. Its probably easier to use HX Edit if you are just doing it at home. EDIT: Just noticed this is what LukeFRC was talking about doing.
  24. Im doing it on the fly at rehearsals at the moment. No point in tweaking at home as it never translates to how it sounds with the band playing. I know how to copy and past blocks, its easy to do, but i have a couple of blocks set up so one goes on, one goes off from one foot switch. Im pretty quick with the Stomp, ive made a point of not relying on the software as i know ill never have it with me, but its still a bit of a pain copying things between patches. If i decide i want to change, say the OD pedal to another variation, it takes longer to transfer this to the other patches. Its really just a time thing. I dont like to keep fiddling with things and holding the band up. Not the end of the world, but i cant help feel the Effects will be easier for me. Im not using any amp sims live anyway, im using the Stomp pretty much as a pedal board anyway.
