  1. Love this song. One of my fav Clash songs. One of the first songs i ever learnt away from the usual School stuff. Sounds good. Singer has the right voice.
  2. In theory yep, I'm in. Thursday's are our rehearsals nights, its normally the only night we are all free. As long as we arent gigging that weekend i can cancel it. Not been to the Garage for well over 20 years (although we drive past it going to rehearsals). Last band i saw there was Cutting Crew, around the time Died in your arms was in the charts.
  3. I agree. Good balance and I liked how well the bass sits in the mix. I find with gig recordings is not always what he hope it sounds like, but if it works it works.
  4. Sorry, I forgot to post back. I didn't get over there as i was laid up with a virus. Hoping to get over there before then end of the month.
  5. Im a fan of the LED's on the foot switches. I have them off until the block is engaged. This give me a good visual indication. I do like those toppers but cant feel they would make it easier to hit the adjacent footswitch by mistake.
  6. This is my thinking. When my band of 15 years split i was glad to not have to play bass for a while. Obviously i didnt have to stop, but i wanted to. I was so used to playing live that without that reason i just didnt bother. I then got a guitar and thought id learn to play that properly, just for my own amusement. Now i had time on my hands i also got a digital multi track and was going to go back to writing songs etc. In the 6 months i had off i didnt touch the bas once, nor did i miss it. It was only when my GF/singer decided she missed it and we started up again did i pick the bass up again. Since then Ive enjoyed playing bass much more than i did in the past. I now sit at home learning all manner of songs, songs that we will never play. If the band split id continue doing this. I think i just needed a break.
  7. 'And his dynamic range is very wide, he needs to use one of those crumpressor things ....'
  8. Ill make sure to ask around the audience and see how many feel the night was ruined by your obvious lack of comp 🙂 If they all start complaining about it i guess the audience can tell after all lol.
  9. I had a lovely brown TRBX505 for about a year. I gigged it quite a bit but never really connected with it. I felt it was a bit boring, at least compared to my other basses at the time. I also felt the B string could have been better. It was usable, but lacked punch and clarity compared to the other strings. IMO of course. Looks and feel etc were spot on though, and i really do love those matt finishes.
  10. Hopefully the only time i will have a p........
  11. Got me knobs sorted out. Nice feel to them. The red is a bit more magenta/pink than i expected, but its still cool.
  12. 16.5 is a bit tight but those bridges are adjustable so you can get a bit more spacing. Recon i could get it close to 17mm. Are you using yours on Sat? Sell me on it lol.
  13. Anderton's are making it very hard to stay on the wagon... https://www.andertons.co.uk/brands/ibanez/sr-series-basses/ibanez-sr1345b-dwf-5-string-bass-in-dual-shadow-burst-flat
  14. .....avoid coming on here. 'Real' bass players keep well away from us gear hounds lol. .
  15. Or 'things ive sold this year' 😂
  16. I think we need a new thread for those that have fallen off the path. I expect it will be longer than this one 😂
  17. Thats what i wanted to replace my Quilter BB800. Ended up with a Fender rumble 800, but i may also look in to a DG M900 at some point. The Fender is nice, but lacks a bit of punch. I used my Fender and CN212 at the Hop poles on Sat. More than enough volume and low end, but i want to give my GK a go with the CN212 as well.
  18. Spill the beans 🙂
  19. Wow, didnt realise you had the big one. Agree though, its a bit over kill for most of us.
  20. Yep, new gear is new gear.
  21. Isnt that just the norm on here when we buy something lol.
  22. No problem Chris, and GLWTS. This is a very powerful head, and very clean even at loud volume. In hindsight i tihnk my issue was the cab at the time, and not this amp. One day (not just yet), ill give it another go.
  23. Ah yes, I should have looked first lol. Cheers both. So the 1024/5 is more refined.
  24. Quick question. Are the pups in the 425 the same as those in the 1025?
  25. Yeah, he has a nice clean style. I do prefer the tone of the 42* basses over the 43* in that video, but as i dont play like that its not really much help.
