  4. Oh come on Stubbs, it's between C246* and C248.** * a Latvian railway locomotive ** a navigation buoy off Porthcawl
  5. I play a lot of chords on bass in my little band. I use a QSC K12.2 FRFR set up. Bass > Effectrode PC-2A > Grace Design Alix > QSC K12.2
  6. That's big sheep. Chana and tarka dals I assume? Any others..? That sounds perfect, hopefully they do take out coffee at the cafe?
  7. I was at Nomis Studios in Olympia working for a band doing pre-tour rehearsals, finding myself caught short and a little refreshed I wobbled off to find the bog. Finding an unoccupied urinal between two urinals occupied by Andy Taylor and John Taylor of Duran Duran I immediately set my mind to thinking of something witty to say, by the time I did they'd both gone so I wobbled back to our room and drank more saké.
  8. Throw a sickie, it's a British tradition, almost a right.
  9. Splendid. It'll be cool if there's four of us!
  10. Excellent! Was just about to check this was still going ahead, is it definite enough that I can book a hotel?
  11. Hopefully we can all agree that regardless of inner dialogue/monologue, Kylie Minogue is rather marvellous.
  12. Thoroughly enjoyed that film, particularly Mickey Mouse chopping up the broomsticks.
  13. Absolutely this, my JMJ had LaBella 760F-MUS stainless steel flats, perfect strings for this bass.
  14. The short scale I felt comfortable with instantly was the Nordstrand Acinonyx. Out of all the basses of any scale I've ever played it was, by a country mile, the easiest to play and most comfortable bass I've ever owned. If you get the opportunity to try one then do, incredible instruments.
  15. It depends on the bass and on you, you have to try a few out before you'll find one that kind of 'suits' you. Once I found my 'brand' so to speak I adjusted very quickly, well, instantly really. Neck dive isn't inevitable, only one of the eight or so short scales I've played had neck dive, mind you, they have all had lightweight tuners. If you are moving from a P bass then I completely agree with @Lozz196, Mustangs are the way to go. I also had a JMJ and it was glorious, I never noticed any neck dive but, again like Lozz, I have straps that provide good support.
  16. Ages ago I downloaded a shedload of reggae and dub, as recommended by a motley selection of vagabonds and reprobates, I mean like half an iPod's worth. I had little knowledge of the wider world of this music other than the bands I listened to in my punk youth, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Dillinger, Steel Pulse, Bob Marley. So, gradually, as I have it on random most of the time, various tracks come on, some of which I like (which I post on here), some not (which I don't), I am running out of artists I like! Anyway, here we are on Pg. 149 of one of the best threads on BC (cheers @Reggaebass) and it really is time to use it as a resource to get more reggae and dub to fill up the other half of the iPod.
  17. I think the clue is in the opening line... I picked up a couple of these Jazz basses locally He's got two. Edit: This post was brought to you by the word Irony and the number 2.
