This makes a change ...

I thought the tone control was in the back as per the Rob Allen site... Is there a tone control? yes, Mb-2 and Mouse 30 basses have a passive high trim control located in the back cavity. You can access this through a small hole in the back plate with a small straight screwdriver. Wide open (full clockwise) is "flat", and as you back it off (counter clockwise), you will reduce high end. This is a subtle control, and is mostly to fine tune how much finger noise and articulation you want in your sound. I think of it as a master control, a "set it and forget it" that you can fine tune the overall sound with.

I had an Ashbory, I threw on a bottom of the garden bonfire.

What are you listening to right now?

I'm not a fan of guitar solos in music, but I love the guitar work on Tubeway Army records, Numan himself is credited as being the guitarist on their output, I don't think (despite having listened to them for decades) that he was the guitarist! -
Yes, a picture of a plasterer's radio, which is what I resembled afterwards.

01 Ever played a gig sitting down? Yes, ever since I've been in an acoustic duo all the gigs have been sitting down. 02 Ever gigged on a different instrument? Yes, lots, on drums in my teens and early twenties. 03 Ever shared a stage with a musical hero of yours? Only as a tech. But my old thrash band once supported Dub War, Benji wore one of our Beanie hats, I was chuffed. 04 Any fan ever had a tattoo of your band's logo? Heh, not to my knowledge. 05 Ever signed an autograph in a dressing room? No, but outside a venue in Iowa a band I was working for were signing autographs and I was asked to sign several posters and shirts, I did explain that I was just a tech but it didn't matter, an English accent seemed to be enough. 06 Ever cried on stage? Only with laughter. 07 Ever worn a hat on stage? Yes, never (I don't think) done a gig without one. BTW I own 40+ hats. 08 Ever gigged with a band you hadn't met before the gig? No. 09 Ever been in a relationship with a fellow band member? Yes. 10 Ever played in different bands on the same day? No. 11 Ever had anything thrown at you while playing? Yes, a joint, and, bizarrely, a copy of a drumming magazine. 12 Ever crashed on the way to the gig? No. 13 Ever left a band over the choice of set list? No. 14 Ever slept in the venue despite it not being a hotel? No. 15 Ever been supported by a band clearly better than you? Hmmm, difficult one, certainly more technically proficient bands but we were never bettered in the swagger dept IMHO. 16 Ever played a gig suffering from some debilitating medical condition? No, but I have thrown up due to excessive drinking twice whilst on stage. Once all over my snare which was hectic during the next roll. 17 Ever been in a band where the guitarist was your favourite bandmate? Yes, every one, as it happens. 18 Ever played in the grounds of a stately home? No. 19 Ever injured yourself on stage? No. 20 Ever been told that your bass isn't loud enough? Yes, by an excellent guitarist.

The new superhero Octoknob, oh wait, that's @Teebs' alter ego.

Albeit a bit 'knobby'.

You know what, I'm considering buying a pair of these basses, one fretted, one fretless so I never have to take the ACGs out of the house!

Helix Floor/LT/HX/Stomp/PodGo owners' Club - Tips, Ideas & Patches
Frank Blank replied to Al Krow's topic in Effects
I have to say that making the effort to plough through the 70 (admittedly it was just over fifty when I harnessed up the plough) is well worth it, reading everyones opinions and discussion made my mind up to never use a trad amp/cab again. Mind you, saying that, perhaps we could do with a refined and honed FRFR thread like @EBS_freak has created for in-ear headphones? All that aside, I do indeed run a HX Stomp / QSC K12.2 rig and it's a total game changer. -

This is very true. Suzi was a huge influence on me but not in a bass playing sense ... -

I expect because although a superb and influential player he's not what you call visually appealing. -

Exactly. The only eq Alterations I make through my FRFR are with the Stomp. -
Don't forget to put your foot on it.

Pink seems to do the trick!

Likewise, I've a couple of wide leather straps I no longer use now I've 'found my brand' so to speak.

The best percussion performance of the modern age, Bunny Wailer, there, understated I think you might say, fabulous. I find it very difficult to watch this without selling everything to buy a Jazz like the Family Man's. -
Another boon, I always leave mine in venues/rehearsal rooms or people nick them so now I get bright coloured leads and my theft/leave rate has gone right down.

Now, I've had some very interesting things priced around £17.00 but I would say that these jacks are by far the best I've had at any price point. I think they are superb.
