Absolutely - It's the 'Happy Shopper' variety of one-off KingBass MkII from 2019.

He could always use one of these as a spade... -
I'm almost glad I only just spotted this thread - excellent legal rules based concept, Richard. Unfortunately, before the end of February, I've already failed. Traded in two basses against something I've been after for 17 years last weekend, which cost ALL the money. Okay, so I'm patient (or is that persistent?!) Oh, and one further instrument is up for sale. I do like this thread, though...

Reverend Thundergun, finally some hot new colors!

Thanks BA, yes I noticed they had some in stock. What do they actually sound like? I can't remember any other bass with a P/H pickup configuration. -

That transparent red is very nice. Might have to have a look around t'internet to find some in stock. -
There was a very good interview on Scott's Bass Lessons with Blu DeTiger about a year ago. As I said, I quite like her music, even if I am 55. Did anyone see her Fender promotional video with the Signature Bass? It's worth a watch in order to get an idea of what it sounds like. The guy at Empire Music did a pretty good review of the bass too.

I tried a couple of high end Fenders, brand new and just delivered to Andertons a while back (I think one was the launch model of the original American Ultra Jazz, and the other was the active Flea Bass), and both were utterly unplayable from the factory.

Mine has disowned me.

That red Aerodyne is lovely. I've always had a thing for these and have played a few. There's just something about them.

Agreed, Terry. -

Sire have a habit of doing that to your brain and sense of values. I've had a few Sires, and of course, they usually end up being trade-in fodder for more expensive instruments, but they are good. My most recent one was one of the 2nd Gen Ash V7's and as a backup bass to my American Original Jazz, it was easily as good, if a little punchier with the preamp. I think you sometimes have to end up taking money out of the equation and just accept that a good bass is a good bass, no matter how much it does or doesn't cost. -
What really impacts on your bass tone?
HeadlessBassist replied to KingPrawn's topic in General Discussion
1. Clean strings. If you want to be heard equally and not get buried in the mix, use some clean and zingy strings. 2. RH position. Learn to play in a musically and tactile manner, experimenting with the different tones you get from playing over the end of the fingerboard, or at the bridge - ask yourself where your instrument sounds best. Also, think about when you need to play gently and sit back (when someone is singing or soloing), and when you need to dig in and punch through. 3. Think about the length/sustain of your notes. Are you sounding lyrical, or leaving huge holes? Either is good at times, depending on the style and speed of the music. -
Even scarier, I bought the one-off 2019 KingBass MkII 5-string that he had in stock. I am now officially poor.

That's where the attack and sizzle comes from. I really like these. Am I allowed to sort of like her music when I'm 55..?
