1.
*GRIN*
We even get our leathuuuur pants from the same place don't we darling!
 2.
I watched Kit, ably supported by Nige and the crew, at the Half Moon in Putney recently. Very good stuff but - for me - it would be a lesser spectacle without Nige's trademark black leather trousers and chrome-bling Warwick
Me and and Big Red X are the Basschat 'black leather pants and blingy bass' boys I think we deserve our own sub-forum
 3.
I was reading a thread where Nige (silddx) had posted and decided to have a good listen to Kit Richardson. f*** me, this is amazing music. Kit has an awesome voice, the recording and production is great, and the musicianship is top class. Nige, your playing and sound are brilliant, and I love the bass part on track 3. I wish I lived in London, so I could see you guys play.
I also meant to give much credit to Basschat's 51m0n for his superb mixing and mastering of the ep. He did an incredible job. He's so good at this and he should really be doing this for a living.
 4.
nice looking girl, she would do well on the X factor
She would not, she doesn't do commercial compliance

 15.
for those who haven't seen them... https://www.facebook...pe=1&permPage=1 What d'all think? I think they look pretty beautiful. But would I own one?? hmmm polarised feelings on that one. I think yes tho :-/ As far as I have seen its an original idea...? Pretty cool stuff either way. Especially seeing as you can order your own choice of finishes/es/es/es/es! (at what cost I don't really want to know: Ignorance is safety in this case lol) Ash
I love it! It's playful and it looks ace, there's a sense of humour in there. I'd be seen with it
 16.
Sorry what was that.
17. It sounds like trumpet lines.
 18. Just use your ears man! It's what they're for
 19.
So what level should the kick be compared to the snare.
In a Carpenters number, or a Deicide one?
 20. ped, you lucky sod
 21.
there's a strange zen-like thing going on though isn't there? being 'thrilled' and being 'connected' aren't the same. I'm thinking about that moment when you've been playing a short groove over and over and all of a sudden your timing seems loose, but perfect, and you can feel the pulse completely... I wish I was better at describing this feeling, written posts are sh*t at this kind of thing
Well is suppose it's just semantics. If you mean achieving some sort of zen buddhist sartori by being 'in the now' during playing then I know what you mean but I'm not really sure it's achievable as a piece of music can be considered both as a continuum or as a set of defined events. And since tension and resolution are great parts of the essence of music, the 'now' in music cannot be fully independent of the future and the past.
 22.
this is 'deep' but I completely understand this - being at one with the music is independent of the instrument in some way (as long as your limitations with the instrument doesn't get in the way)... but it's rare to be one with the music to that extent
I think really that 'being at one' with music is being thrilled by what you hear in your head. 'Being at one' with your instrument means you can play what you hear in your head without having to interpret it, you just articulate it without having to think. I don't personally know many players who can do this, except Jake Newman.
 23. f***ing vile, but there are plenty of people who will like it.
 24.
Chris McIntyre used to have a workshop in Peckham, and he is excellent but sadly for me he's moved back to Edinburgh. AFAIK though, he regularly comes back down this way to keep his London clients happy. I'm sure he could squeeze in a setup. As for the Gallery, I found them unhelpful and disinterested whenever I went in, and on one occasion quite insulting. I've had a couple of setups by them and they were ok at best.
Yes, the two others are miserable f***ers, but Martin is a gem, always talk to Martin if he has time.
 25.
Amateurs practice until they get it right. Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong. That's where the zone is.
I'm not sure this is the case really, Bilbo. It depends on the environment of course, there are always mistakes at what ever level one is playing at.
