1. For all you six string players!

This is a Fender Hot Rod Deville Guitar Amp.

It is the amp with the 4x10 Inch speaker configuration.

This amp is rated at 60W RMS, but, this is a real Fender all-tube amplifier, therefore 60W is extremely loud. If you have only ever played standard solid state guitar amps, you will be shocked at just how good an all-tube amp sounds. I have seen massive bands such as Bloc Party and The Editors using this amp. So, this is up there with the top amps you can get, hence the price.

Fender are world-renowned for having the best clean channel going, and that is definitely true with this amp. Crystal clear and sparkly clean channel, with the option of reverb. There is also a drive/more-drive channel for some dirt to your sound.

I have recently had the amp serviced under the guarantee, and all the tubes have been checked. This was also re-tubed recently, so it does not need anything doing to it for a long time. I even have the sheet back from Fender stating that it in full working order.

It comes complete with a Fender soft cover, powercable attached, the Fender Footswitch, and the cable for the footswitch.

I also have the original box and the instruction manual.

This amp is perfect for blues/rock/indie etc etc etc. It also handles pedals very well, so you can build on your sound. I find it is very good at the current wave of indie such as Kings Of Leon, Bloc Party, Coldplay, Killers, Editors, Interpol.

If anyone is after a pro amp for decent sized gigs, then this could well be the amp for you.

Originally, this cost myself around £850.00. I bought this amp from new.

Now, onto the condition. This amp has never had chance to be used properly at a decent volume, which is a shame. It has yet to even be gigged. It has been used in my house for practicing and has been very well looked after. Be warned, this amp is incredibly deceptive, as it is VERY loud. It will compete with no problems against a full band, and it will still have plenty of volume left. The only thing wrong is some dust near the handle. PLEASE NOTE - the little 'lip' on the badge is only the protective plastic they put on the amps (same as scratchplates) to prevent any damage to the badge. I just left it on :) So its PERFECT!

The amp has no scuffs, no marks, and no electronic problems. It could be sold for new it looks that nice. The speaker grill cloth is in perfect condition. The cover is also perfect.

The 4x10 is much louder, and much brighter than the 2x12 version, due to the speaker configuration.

Unfortunately, I do not get the time to appreciate this excellent amp, therefore I have decided to sell it.

I am asking for around [s]£585[/s] now £570 ono, due to its excellent condition and recent service. Please feel free to make an offer by PM'ing me. I WILL consider trades on immaculate items such as: USA Fender Jazz Basses/Lakland DJ5/JO5 plus adjustment, small Markbass cabs or combos plus adjustment, Aguilar DB112s, Orange Guitar Amps, Bergantino cabs plus adjustment, (I wish) Phil Jones Combos, and possibly other items.

Delivery - Again, with most gear its quite heavy. I predict the delivery will be £25-30, but I can double check. I am based in North East Lincs so if you want to pickup, thats probably better! I can meet if necessary.

  2. Hey!

Id like to add that you guys are a pretty cool band im well into my hardcore.

Check my band we are touring n playing near you soon

    www.myspace.com/thedepartedgyhc

PM me if you want some gig swaps!

We also need more south dates asap!

  3. A good well-known guitar/basss/amp will always end up holding more value than a car. Normally they don't have the sh*t running costs as well. Cars and MOTS piss me off. Why they should cost so much is beyond me.

I hate the costs of cars...I'd love a nice Audi...but I may as well just run standard cars and spend cash on things that I think are more enjoyable (instruments and amps).

  4. Its come to the weekend when I expected to go ahead and order....but now I feel put off after having two awful USA Jazz basses. Im not lucky with Jazz's....ive always found a nice P, but the Jazz always seems to have really bad finish flaws.

I need to find a good shop...where they can order it in, let me test, and they can make sure its all a ok before I pay in full. Dont mind paying £40-50 for this service to be honest.

Ive no idea where good 'stockists' of Jazz Basses are in the UK. Electro had one in but it wasnt the right colour and it was rosewood.

    Piss.

  5. It shouldnt be something we have to worry about with the price rise, but Ive had two 'duff' Jazzes so far. My USA Precision Deluxe which I sold was perfect, as is my USA Telecaster and Japanese Precision.

Both Jazzes had AWFUL finish to them, and the first one had sh*t output.....very weak.

  6. Hello

If you watch this vid you can see all the new gear:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSNZroLUKtQ

Not only that, the description states a Bass Terror 500 and 1000. If this is true...a 1000W Bass Terror?!

    That would be actually mental.

    If so, im getting one.

A 1000W in a tiny box?! Yes please.

    The 8x10 looks incredible.

  7. This is the same for me at the moment. Ive got the cash for a new Jazz but im worried about ordering the one I want. I dont want a dodgy one :)

    For £830+ its a risk!

TBH im starting to lose interest....I might spend the money on more Orange gear/Orange Guitar Amp.

Its a bit sh*t when you cant get perfect for that much. Esp with the new prices!

  8. Hey

So as some of you guys/gals know, I have had a somewhat awful and tricky journey to buying a new Fender Jazz USA. I have decided to go for the White with Tort guard and maple neck. Such a nice combo.

Given up on PMT, and Reverb kept quoting me different prices!

Any decent Fender stores who can do good prices? As in I order and they match (or closely match) someone like gak.co.uk.

I absolutely refuse to pay more than about £30-40 over a website. Simply because Ill have to travel anyway! Or pay shipping anyway!

GuitarGuitar have offered me a good price...anyone used them? Its the Newcastle branch (an excuse to go up North and party as well :)) They also replied quickly and promised it would not be a demo like PMT!

Also, Nevada music have offered me the same price. Dont know what those guys are like.

Any shops about? Tried Electro PMT and Reverb so far. Electro are my normal store but they cant match internet prices of £829...which is a shame. I know retail has gone up...but come on every shop should be gagging to sell in this climate!

  9. Even though im 100% gassing for the Jazz still...that I still cannot get a hold of, I just keep looking at those P Basses. Ive got a Jap P Bass which is my workhorse....but I just keep thinking....P Bass + Orange...mmmmm.

I need persuading to make sure I get that Jazz as Ive been after one for years!

  10. I agree on the correct growl at 200W. There is a reason for it being 200W...to get the sound you want without having to go to stadium loud levels.

There seems to be a reoccuring theme about the 200W argument. It tends to be from the bassists who want tiny little amps that produce 1200W but are solid state/completely sterile.

Check out the Orange website and have a look on their forum. I know its more of a guitar argument, but a lot of them prefer lower wattage amps to get that sound without it making your ears bleed.

As everyone knows...its about the sound/tone. And that is where this amps excels. Simple, effective, loud and rock n roll.

And it is loud...dont worry about that. Like I said, a lot of pro bands use them. It excels even more with the right cabs.

    Had any luck trying one?

  11. I've just acquired one.

I tested mine against a Ampeg SVT-CL...and the tone was, imo, much better.

Eveyone goes on about this 200W thing. No way does this amp lack headroom. If you play rock, it matters even less, because once you crank the gain to past around half way, then we are talking awesome natural gain and punch.

Im very happy with mine. And yeah, it looks amazing.

Bands like Converge and ETID I use them, oh and Eagles of Death Metal. If they play big shows with it, anyone can. Pair it with a proper cab and its VERY VERY loud.

Thats my thoughts. Try one out, and I bet you will like it :)

Sounds nice with an 8x10 (Ampeg, or I imagine one of the new Orange ones that are due) or the Orange 4x10+1x15.

It goes from awesome fat bass warmth to insane gain and grit/fuzz.
