1. Everyone knows the specs of these bad boys. I think its around 2002/2003 era...I need to get the serial number off it!

Basically, never been gigged. More expensive also because it is an amazing Natural finish.

Comes with the proper case - again mint condition.

This baby could be sold as new its that nice. New set of strings and you are away.

I'd like around £850. Retailed for around £1400. Im in North East Lincs area....close to Lincs and Yorkshire.

Im a massive fan of keeping everything mint...this will not disappoint!

PM/reply if you are interested. Make an offer etc ;)

  2. So...Ive been offered good deals on both heads.

Which head gives more dirt at lower volumes?

Its going to be for punk/hardcore....and rock....so it needs to be tubey and full ;)

Anyway experienced the new Vietnam made heads?

Any difference, or is it all just politics?!

  3. I usually go on exactly what sound and look I want. I much prefer the original styles of basses, and the MM pickup with 3 band EQ cuts through like hell. Therefore Musicman Stingray would be my choice. Although Status seem to clearly have other things to offer.

  4. Hey

Im possibly selling my lovely Natural Fender P Bass Deluxe with the shell red pickguard. You can get a lot of different sound out of the beast, and the grain on the natural wood is really nice!

I dont use it much as my gigs get a bit hectic, so I use a cheaper Jap Fender Precision.

PM me if you are interested. Mint, and I mean MINT condition. W/case. I think its about 5 years old without dragging the receipt out.

    Gaz

  5. Hey

    Cheers guys....

Yeah I was just interested in what people thought thats all....if its just the chrome or what...

Im just waiting for a reply off Strings And Things to see whats going on now...hopefully getting a new plate...they were very helpful and friendly though which is great :)

Last time it happened I got a new plate...with a new number...and they made note on their systems...so im assuming thats the same with this one.

    Thanks anyway

    Gareth

  6. I have a tiny bit of a problem! A little 'crack' or flaking off has occured on the neck plate next to a screw on my 4 yr old bass. Its in immaculate condition, and been in its case since before this happened....so why has it happened?

Is it something anyone else has heard of?Will it just be the chrome? And if so should I leave it alone. Im getting in touch with EB now...well out of warranty though.

My last one did this as well...and it was replaced due to its age.

It just seems a bit mental to happen twice to me...is it just chrome and not tha actual plate?

  7. Cheers everyone!

Im in the Lincolnshire area....so probably Electro music is best. Theyve done excellent deals for me before...but I know as with most shops, stocking all valve heads to just go in and try is sometimes difficult. I dont mind waiting on ordering one...cos im still saving at the moment, but id like to try an Ampeg SVT CL, a Mesa 400+, an Orange and a Gk all together.

Anyone tried the Ampeg SVT - VR and got any comparisons with a SVT - CL?

    http://www.ampeg.com/products/classic/svtvr/index.html

My 810 is the classic black. I looked at a 'silver' one in Electro and found in looked a little shiny in the light...the black just looks like exactly what it sounds like.

  8. I think you are right about the Converge bassist. I saw him play in July...he was using an 8 10E, with an Orange Head and Im sure he had some sort of Ampeg head sat next to it for some reason.

Thanks for the info....im gonna go to some big stockists and try a few different heads :)

I am a massive fan of the modern Cave-In bass sound....its so meaty and thuderous! But on the other hand I love the twang of Nofx-style bass sound.

    Check my band

    THANKSSSSSS

  9. Hey

    Thanks!

Yeah I was thinking the SVT- CL...

Ive also been told to check out the GK - 800 RB, or a Mesa 400+...where can we get these over here in the UK?

And yeah those Orange heads are awesome...well they look awesome...anyone tried one out?

  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Decent Basses -check, new cab - check, sansamp - check

Right...ive got my awesome Ampeg 810E....****ing love it. Immaculate construction, such a beast, and those tens...well

So...ive had quarter life crisis about getting it around n forgotten about that.

Now...Ive got a great Trace Elliot GP12 400SMX Series Bass Head. 400W, clear tone, great trace sound to it. I love it and im keeping it.

Next is a new head to rock the 810 like it should be. I go for Fender P's, Stingrays etc. I like a bright snappy and snarly tone, but with tons of oommmppphhhh.

    Heads im thinking of:

Ampeg SVT-CL Classic Series Bass Head (obviously)

    Ampeg SVT2 Pro Bass Head

    Ampeg SVT4 Pro Bass Head

    Ampeg SVT8PRO Bass Head

Im starting to properly research these heads now, so excuse my lack of knowledge!

    Anyone got any suggestions?

  11. Which is best for me?

Prog or non prog? (SAmp Bass Driver)

I think non-prog as I want one sound or just the amp sound.

    Any good retailers in uk?

    Thanks

  12. Hey! Im new to here!

Im currently looking at buying a new cab (s). Ive just sold my old ones, and I need something thats going to take no more upgrading!

The SVT 810E seems to be where it at! Ive tried one a few times, and boy does it sound massive.

I like tight punchy growly bass. I use Precisions and Stingrays. I play in hardcore bands at the moment..until Im too old.

Ive got a great Trace Elliot SVT12SMX 400Watt Head.

Anyone know of any other good cabs?! Ive tried a fair few. I dont think two 410 Ampegs do it right...and it works out more expensive.

Retailers im looking at are GAK, GuitarGuitar, Electro, and a few others like Dolphin Music. Anyone used these places before?

Anyway, Ive never had much experience with connections other than the cheap peavey connection I had with my old cabs.

Head is max load 4Ohms. It has TWO speaker outlets. One is the standard jack to jack type outlet, and the other is a 3 pin style. Im not sure of the technical names sorry ...

Anyway, I want to get the right leads. What connections do I need to cater for with the 810E? Im guessing its the Speakon connection I should use? Do I just need one lead from the Trace to one Speakon input? And can you buy a three pin to SPEAKON lead? Want decent quality. Or do I need two?!

Just to sneak this in...best Sansamp? Im probably getting the non prog cos its smaller and more lightweight. Is there any need for 3 channels on the prog version? A few places are selling the standard at £160 which is awesome.

Lastly, covers for 810E....where can I get a decent one from in the UK?!

A lot to ask I know!

    Thanks

    Gareth
