Very nice rig... as well as price, any news on 5/6 strings? (Not that much point in a 4-multi-scale? <*Bracing for impact*>)
I agree.

That works really well. I've never once played a Status but I would love to try one.

...and cheaper?! Thomann have a huge buying power as well....so you will probably get the bass quicker and cheaper hahaha!

@Ruiner Good decision.

I'd go for a Genzler or a Quilter in the current market.

I think I am going to ditch the idea of getting an HH model and stick to the single humbucker instead. I prefer the look of the single H and after listening to numerous sound clips the first position sounds the best to my ears which is just like having a single H configuration. So I aint going to waste my time and money in ordering a HH when the single H will suffice, and although the HH is maybe useful for recreating a P Bass and a Jazz tone I already own them two basses so an HH is not needed.
Personally, whilst a H is damn fine bass, if you have the option of a HH with a little wait, you might appreciate it once it arrives.
Plus, you can choose the colour etc you want without just picking up whatever stock is available.
The HH does not really sound exactly like a J and a P....more like Musicman's own tones.

@drTStingray - yes you have a fantastic example. I must admit in those photos the standard roasted maple does look good. The ebony board sets it off well.
-
Ah, thankfully they haven't lost it completely.
This is much more reasonable...

Despite the Brexit/£ issue, £3000?!

Guitar related - Boss Katana 100W combo.

The oil and wax finish on the neck is, as we know, wonderful.
I can't help but feel that figured maple would have justified the higher pricing. For example, the Musicman guitars in the same price bracket (approx) all have figured maple:

Are these necks roasted but not figured?

If you aren't happy, send it back. Which store mixed up the cases? Such a basic part of the service as well.

Strat Basss? Like a Musicman Big Al....

Man that's some movement!
Big shame.... I would DEFINITELY email photos etc to Fender UK and copy in your dealer, be up front and say it's over 2 years, but ask them if they would be willing to help.
You may then have a spare new neck for it....
I think there is a guy called Matt Davey at Fender UK/Europe...

Check GAK...noticed Peach is getting a few.

PS - the exclusive stock at Andertons was literally for 1-2 days whilst GAK got their stock.
Dr T - looks awesome.
I'm most interested in the 5 string Ray if I'm honest....in a crazy colour.

GAK also have these in including a 5 under 9lbs!

The Musicman sound CAN be scooped, as can all basses I guess, if you knock out the mids (although you can do this on the bass unlike a passive Jazz).
A Jazz is definitely more scooped to me. Lot's of high end, lots of rumble.
I think, without referring to any graphs, that the thing I like with the Stingray is the low mid kick (quite low on the low mids I think....could be wrong) then there is a rasp aggression in the high mids close to the treble, should you want it.
Also, the mid control on the 3 band and 3 band + basses obviously allow for loadssss of mid.
These new basses look fantastic but I'm already well equipped with basses so I doubt I'll be getting one in the foreseeable future.

I'm probably going to get one in a few months - I was always impressed with the original one.
