They were too busy playing with a status over by the counter  ... I just got a ...  You gonna buy it then ... They Seemed a bit annoyed when I asked for a printed reciept too .. but I passed an older chap on the owner on the way out who seemed interested in what I bought and if I was happy .

That’s not great when they want repeat business from you.

  2. Just do not leave any instruments or amps/pedals in the sunlight, unless it is just like a gig and you are playing in it! If you have them at home, make sure they are out of the direct sunlight.

I keep my gear in a small room and the blind is down virtually all the time.

  3. Unfortunately, I think this is quite a good price on a special edition limited model! Does not bode well for the future.

Musicman have just had another price hike over in the USA, so expect it to hit here late summer when the instruments come over. A lot of the models have had significant upgrades, and I imagine a normal stock Bongo 5 HH is going to be £2100-2300.

  4. Yamaha really are a great company. I can only see positive results with this.

Whilst the Helix wasn't for me (at this current stage) the quality of it was fantastic.

Let's hope they bring out some reliable lightweight SVTs!

You can list as many cheaper cabs as you like. If they don't sound as good then they are equally not a good use of your cash.

The price of anything is not an issue unless you want to buy one. You can either afford one or you can't. I don't see  the problem.

It's not about 'affording' it,  and plently of products sound just as good for less money.

I personally love Aguilar's products, but the prices here jumped dramtically once they involved a middleman dealer.

Mesa is in a similar boat...unfortunately. Great gear, overpriced in the UK.

  6. Before they had an import dealer, a few stores used to buy direct. I bought a Tonehammer for about £170 and a DB212 for about £600.

The Tonehammer is about £240 since having a dealer, and I’m not even sure I want to know the DB212 price.

It’s like the prices of Mesa gear over here. Excessive.

  7. Whilst it looks great, I honestly would want the right spec....you might keep it forever but if you don't, you are going to take quite a hit on resale.

Sorry to be so negative! Just trying to weigh it up.
