I've often wondered similarly as to what benefit to our live sound a quality DI box actually provides, and whether what you hear using a Behringer DI 400 differs from what you hear using e.g. Radial or Countryman?

@hiram.k.hackenbacker am I correct that the SY-1 got used in arpeggiator mode at 1.13 to 1.19 and 3.12 to 3.19? Worked really well.

Worth maybe also checking out the Promethean 3110. Unbeatable on portability, but perhaps only 6/10 for sound quality. 300W.

Although I've never had the pleasure of playing one, I've only really heard good things about the GK MB Fusion heads. I've always been a fan of the hybrid amp format and with 3 x 12Ax7 tubes in the pre, this is a 'full on' valve pre.

The new range Legacy heads looked really good. These Fusion S heads, with their hybrid tube pre / class D power format for me go one step further. If they are anything like as good as my Mesa M6 but one quarter the weight, I think the prospect of my joining any new @Sibob 2020 gear abstinence challenge is already looking doubtful! https://www.gallien-krueger.com/fusion-s-heads

I guess sometimes you need to take one step back to take several forward. In my case that's involved swapping HX Stomp --> HX Effects, but already feeling happy that I've gone 'Neanderthal' so to speak. Probably a throwback to my Zoom B3N days, but I'm loving having sight of a bank of four FX in one go which for me means a lot less needing to remember exactly what patch comes after what which I would have had to do with the Stomp (and was also the case with my old Zoom MS-60B pedal). I'll likely go for a set up where my selection of top 12 FX are in the first three banks (which should be plenty) and then follow on with banks providing a choice of particular FX (e.g. 4 drives, 4 filters etc). I guess other folks may go for one patch per song? Be interested in how you've got yours arranged. But with 32 banks x 4 patches available there shouldn't be any practical limitation on the variations possible!

This was 'launched' earlier this year but doesn't yet seem to be in stock. Must admit I'm very tempted though - and it would potentially give you an all-in-one solution, but it is quite a £spendy option.

If you're loving the bass (which looks great btw!) then defo recommend perserving. I'd say it's a much bigger step getting used to a 5er vs a 4 string than getting used to a slightly narrower string spacing. The string spacing on my basses range from 14mm (deliberate narrow choice for my 6er) through 16.5mm for my Ibby 5er, 16.8mm on Spector up to 18.0mm on my Yammys & KS and actually it's fine swapping between them. The only one time that I struggled to make it work was with a Squier Bass VI, but then that had miniscule 11.0mm (if I remember correctly) spacing!
