1. There's only 2 things i hate in life....people and inanimate objects... ...oh! and basses made with exotic woods that look like you should be sitting on them instead of playing them. For the record i like Fender, Rickenbacker and Ashdown so GFY.
 2.
Did someone say mojo'd Highway 1s? Great basses, and I wouldn't mind a P to go with my jazz. Nice P indeed.
There was a sunburst p on the 'bay at the same time for £50 more but i've never been that keen on sunburst....nice J though
 3.
That does look good to me - not so sure about the Pickguard. I'd ram the vintage look down throats with a nice aged 'smokers teeth' cream. Don't treat it like a new born baby and it'll look stunning in a year or two - bit of 'forearm rub' showing - that sort of thing.
The actual pickguard that came with it has aged to a creamy white but it's a got a crack near one of the screw holes....the bass itself did have a few black surface scuffs on the nitro finish, it but they came away with t-cut, so though it does look aged...it's almost immaculate
 4.
Mmm custard.
3 day old custard!!! Forgot to say. It's a Highway 1 in 'Honey Blonde' built in 2003. I already have the Controversial P Special but it has and Aguilar Pre in it and it's just a bit to complex for me , the highway One is much lighter too I like the simplicity of this beast thoug i'm tempted to chuck a jazz neck on it.
 5. Bought this on the 'bay...absolutely great sound and lovely to play....looks really aged for a 5 year old instrument:
 6.
Aaaaarghhh!!! You put a thumb rest on it!!!! Have a bump for a (nevertheless) great bass.....
I had to because of my dodgy thumb joint mate ....that and the fact that i was ripped and thought it would be a good idea. Anyway, price drop to £350 including postage.
 7.
aye funny routs. cheap and nasty way to make it. and why the wee hole routed in it? whats that for? my CIJ p doesnt have one of them
My Special P Bsss (Basschat controversial model), which has either an american hotrod or mexican special body, depending on who you listen to, has that hole too. I think it may be used when they're applying the finish for holding the body as they don't have any paint in them. Then again, i'm no Sherlock Holmes....John? yes , Sherlock no.
 8. My favourite is Sketches of Spain...not much use for studying bass though.
 9. Selling this to pay for the Highway 1 precision that i just bought. It's around a month old and in excellent condition...just one wee, wee mark on the back. Asking £350 including post. Payment by bank transfer only.
 10.
3) Wait till rehearsal when, using your fretting hand only, pedal one hideously clashing note all the way through, while pointedly reading a very long classic novel such as Don Quixote. Then nut him.
This is the best piece of music related advice that i've ever read....though may i suggest something by Emile Zola instead of Cervantes
 11.
I love the service you get in the Guitar Centers in the US. For those who've not been, they're big superstore places (along the lines of Soundcontrol) and the service (from my experience anyway) is always excellent. As you walk in the store someone will say a friendly passing hello and tell you their name, invite you to try whatever and say "give me a shout if you need anything". The guitars/basses (great range of budget to mid/upper level) are all unalarmed (they check your bag on the way out) and amps are usually all ready to try. You're left alone for a bit and then they'll come over and ask your name, find out a bit about you and suggest other stuff to try. Yes, it's all sales patter but you're made to feel welcome and they'll happily try to do you a deal when you buy something. And you know what? You feel like buying something.
You should go across to Talkbass forums and see just what our American Cousins think of Guitar Centre....almost every post negative, with some yank moaning about how bad their service/stock/staff/prices....sh*t customer service is not unique to the UK and neither is good service unique to the USA....unless we're describing their 'servicing' small countries who have oil
 12. I might be wrong here, but i'm almost sure that i've read on the Rickresource forums that Jetglos have a blue basecoat?
 13. Self Portrait...taken after seeing some of the poseurs on here
 14.
It was actually only one photo... The second was the same pic rotated 90°
I'd have been sh*te on Clapperboard....fear my amazing powers of observation...
 15. David Steele of The Beat was cool as a fish with that wee dance of his.
 16.
I think you have just described the whole Antiques business to a T! "Collectors" pay silly prices. Maybe you are under valuing your 2 basses!
The Aussie one that went for 14,000 $ probably went for so much due to the fact it was sold with the original strings You would expect more than 2 out of focus photos when someone is asking for so much...but oh no, 2 blurrys photos that look as if they were taken by an epilectic standing on a trampoline is what you get.
 17.
Not that I want to cause offence, or cast uneccessary aspersions on this photo, but it does look a little 'doctored' to me. Everything's blurred except the bass and it's strings. Maybe that's just how the photo panned out, and I'm no expert. Am I the only one who thinks this way?
I'd tend to agree...certainly looks like there has been some use of the blur tool...i'm no expert either but i am a very good photographer
 18. I think that this shot beats even Penny Smiths shot of Paul Simonon. ladies and gentlemen, i give you that fine purveyor of the precision bass: DEE DEE RAMONE!!!
 19. Not my cup of tea...the headstock looks like a sperm I'm another one that tends not to like basses with 'exotic wood' bodies....most of them end up looking more like 'exotic bog seats'....mind you, the most bog seat looking bass must be the Musicman Bongo...bogseatastic!!!!!!!
 20. Just listened to Dexy's ; Searching For the Young Rebels and have now moved on to Television; Marquee Moon.
 21. I like my AGB200 and have a hankering for an ATK300:
 22.
I know, it's exactly what I do, I have no life see, so I come to a forum, get my kicks from you then I move onto another topic on another forum. Idiot
Whatever you do, don't visit the funny bassplayers forum....you''ll be totally out of your depth. Keep up the practice and you'll get there in the end...even Sid Vicous played in time occasionally.... usually by mistake.
