1. My passive J Type has the most output of any of my basses. Blows my Valenti, Rick and Jazz with a J Retro away in terms of volume.
2. I see myself owning an Am Std P some time in the future and yours would be the exact combo I'd go for.
3. I was always a Roto guy but after buying an ACG on here that was strung with BT170's I think I might have been converted. Nice to see their customer service is top notch too!
4. Sold this gent some pickups. Payment was sent almost instantly and communication was great throughout.
5. I'm going for a Knightfall 66 on the back of this thread. We'll see how it plays with my Darkglass stuff.
6.
That's what I like to hear I have a new one on order myself although technically Mrs ead may not be aware of this fact...
You're the worst person. An enabler!
7. Can't blame anyone for ACG gas. Only have my graft for 1 week and in already saving for a custom.
8. sorry to hijack but what's this knightfall 66? Only see the normal knightfall on their website.
9. It's a monster. Really, really high output as well. It's cool being able to go from series to parallel as well.
10. It's a split coil P in the neck position, not a humbucker.
11. No it's called Dirty Ash. Apparently Alan won't do it on a graft again so this is unique.
12. Ask and ye shall receive.
13. Decision was made... In the end it was neither! I'm now the proud owner of an ACG Graft J Type bass. Bought from lovely BC'er ead. Stunning instrument. Will take some time to properly play it before I venture forth any opinions but so far it sounds bloody amazing.
14. Absolute gent! Came through to deliver the bass himself and was a pleasure to deal with the whole process. Highly recommend and has now got me loving ACG Basses!
15. I've passed in the stingray. I just don't need the tone right now. I'd occur be buying it for the amazing looking neck. I might have a wild card lined up. Watch this space.
16. The other thing I should mention is I'm waiting on a build from Nino Valenti as well, so I'm really overdoing it on basses at the moment. Currently have a Valenti Jazz, Fender Jazz and a Rickenbacker 4003 in the stable.
17. Yeah have all that factored in
18. My heart says the Lakland will always be made so I can buy it any time, but that Stingray is a rare bird and I should buy it...
19. I'm in a pickle. Here's the problem, I have GAS for a new bass. I thought I wanted a P Bass, love the sound I can get from them, so I went and tried a few in Guitar Guitar. The American standard felt great, so did the Lakland Skyline P I tried. But then I tried the Lakland 44-02 they had on the wall, wow! Neck felt amazing and the action was nice (I'd still tweak it though) and the tone. I played it through a TC combo set flat but it still sang. Easy decision, right? Then I see on TalkBass a guy selling a Stingray Family Reserve in turquoise with a roasted birdseye maple neck and board, absolutely stunning. Importing here to the UK will cost roughly as much as a the Lakland. I've owned a Stingray before and I did like it but the unfinished board didn't really click with me (the Lakland is also unfinished but feels nicer to my hand), so this BFR has a glossy board so I should like it more than my previous one. As it's online though I won't get a chance to play it before buying it. Any suggestions?
20. Any interest in a fender PJ 75 reissue. Basically a jazz body and neck with a p pickup in the neck position.
