1. Hi mate, Just read your reason for selling and felt the need to reply. Sorry your feeling crap at the moment. I don't know your reasons for having a break and I'm sure they're justified, but maybe just keep one bass... Bands can be a nightmare! I'm just on a break (since June last year...) because I got sick of the bullsh#it! It seems that playing music is a double-edged sword (sorry, bad analogy and I'm no psychologist); what brings you immense joy, can also lead you to times of absolute despair! I thought about stopping completely, but playing is like an addiction, it draws you back in. I guess all I'm trying to say is that you SHOULD have a break, but leave yourself the option to pick it up when you want and see how you feel. I found that I'd lost all my confidence in my abilities (I'm not saying you have, but I did) and didn't want to even look at the bass, but after a month or so, I needed to play the damn thing! I started wood-shedding again. But hey, on the flip side, when you've finished the book, close the cover, if you've had enough, then that's cool too, you made a decision. Sorry to intrude on your sale thread or sound preachy with my 'Jerry Maguire moment' and I'm not part of a cult or anything... lol. GLWTS, take care and don't let 'em drag you down, dude. All the best Freddy

 4. Hello I'm having a clear out and so I'm selling a set of 4 Schaller M4 Light bass tuners, black chrome, (2 left, 2 right). These we're bought for a project that never got finished (many of us have been there...). They are still boxed and in near-perfect condition having only been un-boxed to check fitting. These are considerably lighter than most and I'm throwing in a set of four Schaller knurled tuning buttons (Black chrome) which look ace, but I got them to reduce further weight, which they do! Due to me being a little over-excited (lol) when assembling mid-build, there is some slight scuffing on the nuts and some very light string markings on the shafts (oooerr, etc., sorry, couldn't find a better, honest description), so I'm asking £35 (inc.P&P to UK mainland), which I've tried to show in the photos. Thanks for looking. Freddy
 5. Hello Due to a project that never happened... and needing funds for other things, I'm selling a pair of boxed, unused Dimarzio Model J DP123 single coil, Jazz bass pickups. these have never been used, but the plastic wrap has been opened to check fitting, wiring etc. They are great pickups and have many wiring options, working great either passive or with a pre-amp. They are standard size and retro-fit most J-basses. This is what DiMarzio say about them: DiMarzio Model J™ pickups reproduce the warmth and roundness of the traditional Fender® Jazz Bass® sound with increased power and hum-cancellation. The additional power translates into a bigger sound that emphasizes the resonant character of the instrument. The DiMarzio Model J™ pickup’s sensitivity and deep tone are also the perfect complement to fretless basses. Double-stop glissandos and delicate violin-style vibrato speak with a classic, woody voice simply by backing off slightly on the tone control. For an even more varied choice of tones, pair a bridge position DiMarzio Model J™ with aDiMarzio Model P® pickup. The warm, fat tone of the DiMarzio Model P® plus the tight punch of the DiMarzio Model J™ open up the sound of any bass. Sounds marvelous! lol and that's why I bought them. Definitely worth a shot at this price as they retail new around £100. I'm now asking £55 ono Freddy
 6. Hello I'm having a clear out to raise funds for another project, so I'm selling a Badass Mk2, 4 string bridge. It's in great nick, the string grooves have been done by Jon Shuker and it includes the original screws. I've tried to show any where in the accompanying photos. I'm asking £55 (Inc. P&P to UK mainland). Thanks for looking. Freddy
 7. Hello I'm selling my Ibanez Soundgear SR 600 (4 string) Bass due to needing funds for other things. It was bought on Basschat (unfortunately, I can't remember who as I've not been on the site for a while and all my threads etc. have gone), I believe it's a 2012 model and it comes with a padded bag. It's a great bass, plays really well, sounds great and has the best two piece swamp-ash body I've seen on any SR (I was planning to buy a new one, but I saw this)! The neck, truss rod, hardwear and electronics are in perfect working order, there is some very minimal fretwear, but nothing a fret dress (or even a decent polish) couldn't sort. The back of the neck is like glass and a dream when gigging. The body and neck are in great condition, although the body has a few dings on the lower horn and some wear around the input jack socket. The back has very little wear at all, but in all cases I have tried to show these in the photos. The condition overall is very good, having being looked after, but does have some cosmetic wear, as you'd expect (I've tried to show this in the photos). There are two additional strap button holes (it has schaller strap buttons fitted), which are my preference, but these could easliy be 'lost', especially with this natural finish, with filler or superglue and sanding dust from same or similar timber. It has all the features you'd expect from the SR series: (taken from Ibanez website. N.B. this bass has the TWO-position mid frequency switch) Neck type: SR4 5pc Jatoba/Walnut Jatoba fretboard w/Abalone oval inlay Ash body Medium frets Accu-cast B300 bridge (19mm string spacing) Neck pickupBartolini® MK-1 neck pickup (Passive)bridge pickupBartolini® MK-1 bridge pickup (Passive)equalizerIbanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ w/Mid frequency switch (two-position) Black matte hardware Scale length: 864mm/34" 38mm at nut 21.5mm at 12 fret 62mm at 24 fret 305mm radius Please note that the stand is not included, but the padded bag is. You are welcome to come over and try it out. Collection is preferred (I'm in Sheffield), carriage would be arranged by and at the buyer's expense. Many thanks for looking. Freddy

 9. Hello, Strapped for cash... Selling my Squier Vintage Modified Fretless which comes with an ARMOURdillo gig case (worth around £50). The bass is in excellent nick and was bought from a fellow Basschatter. I've had some great work done by Jon Shuker; the neck has been planed and polished, the nut dressed and the bass has had a set up. The back of the neck has been properly finished and feels like silk, front and rear. The work John did came to £50. I've also added a neck plate cushion (oooeeerrr!!!). The bass plays great and is in near-mint condition, bar a couple of tiny surface scratches (one can be seen on the upper horn). These basses are great (this is my second) and at the price worth just having for 'that occasion'. Unfortunately, needs must. Here's the spec:

Body Material: Agathis
Body Finish: Polyurethane

Neck Material: Maple
Neck Finish: Vintage Tint Gloss
Neck Shape: Slim "C" Shape
Scale Length: 34" (864 mm)
Fingerboard: Ebonol
Fingerboard Radius: 9.5" (241 mm)
String Nut: Synthetic Bone
Nut Width: 1.5" (38.1 mm)

Pickups: Duncan-Designed Single-Coil Jazz Bass
Controls: Volume 1. (Middle Pickup), Volume 2. (Bridge Pickup), Master Tone
Pickup Configuration: SS

Bridge: 4-Saddle Standard
Hardware Finish: Chrome
Tuning Machines: Standard Open-Gear
I'm asking £230 (OVNO), which includes the case and covers me for the cost of the work done. I'm happy to post if the buyer pays and organizes shipping. Buyer is welcome to to come and try. Thanks for looking (I'm also selling a pair of boxed, unused Dimarzio Area J pickups - £65) Freddy
