      Maybe they charge daft prices because many bass players believe the big name pickups are wound by Rumpelstiltskin using Goldilocks hair 🙂

    Offer of 2 free Peavey cabs was not to be missed. Trouble was cabs weigh 156lbs each and I live on top floor 🙂 Problem now solved,one step at a time 👍

      @Bigwan they're DT-4's. Full range monsters 4ft high, 30" deep but just 18" wide.

      Buy the material,scan your original. Convert the scan to a .dxf file. Take PG material + flashdrive to one of the laser cutting services or a machineshop with CNC. I thought about getting a few PB-50 headstock templates made in 6mm MDF,was told £1.50 each including the MDF. You're supplying the material so £5 to cut sounds about right.

      It's went from sunburst to Paisley pink. Made a hash of the Paisley so stripper back to wood. Sealed then sprayed black. Deep breath taken and decided Paisley was back on the cards. All in last 6weeks. Now this balls up.

    About to start PB-50 surgery. Sorry to be doing it as this arrived from Thomann witha lovely set up.

      SB. I've sent headstock templates to a few of our BC brothers but I'm lousy at explaining things. MrTea suggested I do a post, trouble is I'm lousy at that too :-) Forgot to take a "Before" photo !! I'll try and get a post together today.

    Had a screw head shear off a bridge screw - boo! But the new bridge I'm fitting has screw holes in different positions anyway, so I don't have to remove the screw - hooray!

    Played through the rehearsal spaces ancient Peavey TKO 1x15 combo last night.  With my flats loaded P bass and a DHA Bass Drive pre-amp it sounded bloody wonderful!!
