Just changed my pre to an ACG filter type so this beauty is now surplus. I would describe it as very clean, hifi sounding and articulate. It also has the pull passive switch on the volume control should your battery die. Complete with shiny silver knobs. You'll need a 9V battery connector lead as my ACG didn't come with one so have used the previous - if i find one in the meantime however i'll solder one on. So it'll need 3 holes in your bass, pots seems approx 2 x 6mm and 1 x 8/9mm for the stacked pot. Configuration is 2 band - volume, stacked treble/bass and balance. All in a quality bit of kit Would trade for a decent Envelope filter or synth pedal, can add cash either way otherwise £100 posted Reduced to £80

Well, i had my Spector Rebop (admittedly roadworn) and Fender Kingsman up for sale here with little progress. I advertised them both locally this weekend and rather quickly got offered a beautiful and well looked after 2006 Warwick Thumb BO4 for the two. Initially I was a little skeptical having never tried a Thumb and years ago I used think what a Fugly looking piece of wood they were. Anyhow, lovely local basser who I'd never met before turns up at my gaff earlier today, we get on well, i try the thumb and we agree on the exchange..... And to be honest I haven't put the bass down since! I'm not sure if its the electrics but it seems leagues ahead of my Warwick Corvette, i assume that had cheaper electronics and despite having since changed them for Bartolini's I'm still not totally happy with the Corvette sound wise - however I'm hoping the incoming arrival of an ACG pre shortly should solve that. But back to the Thumb, bloody wow, solid tone, amazingly built, massive sustain and a great range of solid defined tones...did i mention great tone - perhaps this must be the real Warwick tone people talk off ??? or is that a myth ???. I'm surprised how much i like this, very suprised.....but we're on the honeymoon start I guess. But it just goes to show the bass you don't know can knock your socks off sometimes...that said it'll probably be up for sale in a month being the fickle number 3 bass changer that i am...got an early feeling though that this one could move up to the number two spot....thumbs up!
Bargain!!!!
Yeah I think so too but alas no one spending on a top quality built Czechoslovakian beauty akin to a top of the range Warwick body style. Would love to trade for a P or Jazz with cash adjustments adjustments as necessary and certainly very minor ones from me Doesn't have to be Fender either ...a Squier CV precision and cash my way perhaps -
So what's the neck like on the kingsman? Jazz like?. I've just bought a Takamine electric acoustic which I love but the neck is much wider than I like.
Very Jazz like if not identifcal, it's rather amazing actually. It also has a Fishman Pre. -

Basschat therapy from my hospital bed - I thank you
Get well soon. I had my tonsils out a few years back and aside from - and in fairness they told me this would happen - it being agony 5 to 10 days after the op, it`s been one of the best things I`ve ever done/had done. I used to get tonisilitis at least twice every winter, and was forever getting rotten colds. Since having them out in 2012 I`ve only had one serious cold, and some minor sniffles. The improvement on my overall health has been immense - I hope it does the same for you Raslee.
That's reassuring to read Lozz. I have suffered a lot of lurghi's over the last few years, some I've put down mostly to having young children and their magnetism for all things buggy. I've had tonsillitis averagely 3-4 times a year for about 20 years - often causing me two weeks a year off work...and of course a few gig cancellations over the years, but it was when my new GP discovered what I did as a day job and that we shared some complex patients in the community that he was sympathetic to the chronicity of my tonsillitis and got a referral into ENT. Anyhow, I'll quit here - it's taking me ages to type this far with falling asleep on my laptop...I'm funked on the Oramorph & fever Thanks for the ongoing love & jokes folks -
Im torn with trading my Lakland 55 02 for a Jazz Bass.
Id go for a Sire V7, either 4 or 5 string. Better pre amp than the 55-01 (ive had one, lovely basses) but also a very good passive Jazz bass. You would also save a considerable amount of money, with the same end result.
<<<This...keep the Lakland, those 55-02 are superb....the Sire's are bloody superb! -
'Doctor, will Raslee be able to play bass after the operation?' 'Yes, that will be fine' 'It's a miracle! Because he couldn't before' Sorry, I had to make that joke. It's a tradition.
The man has a point...it'd be a miracle for me -

Thanks lovely people. To match my presentation a bit of Hillage's Green may have to go the record player when I get home...Unidetified, great B-line. Just treated myself to the Jaco DVD too -
Just wanted to thank the wonderful existential Basschat as I've lay in hospital for the last 24hrs post tonsillectomy, a few problems so got an extended stay. Primarily Basschat has been my weapon of choice whilst Withnail's uncle Monty's twin in opposite bed has tried his best....it's not that I'm antisocial but I can barely swallow fresh air let alone make conversation about my wife & children So Basschat and a bit of Snarky Puppy... & Gong has been wonderfully therapeutic on many levels and I wanted to thank you lovely peeps for the pointless crap I've read... Bit like this post really (I jest) and inspiration to finally practice a bit in the forthcoming fortnight recovery. Also fascinating to be the patient as I'm a healthcare professional myself. What wonderful beauty and genius is the NHS...oh and a bit of opiated based med's for good measure-hail Gong, but by lordy this crazy government are breeding ridiculous working conditions for me and my colleagues....quantity over quality it seems - so many dissolutioned newly qualified staff...although a few are going to Spotify some Snarky & The pot head pixies x
