I like it, cheers
Maybe 'Sing It Back' and 'The Time Is Now' , Moloko. Just about within your time period.
Was thinking about the Time is Now...great tune
Missing - Everything but the girl We're doing this currently. Good tune.
Good track, suits our vocalist
You could do Common People by Pulp. Arguably the song of the 90's.
Yeah that should be in the set really
3.
Whale "Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe"
yes yes yes ...great tune
4.
Not M People for the love of God!!
+ (insert large number)
5. ah yeah...You Outta Know...Flea on bass...good call
6. Ah Republica....forgot about them! Good call. Her voice, quite low...Alison Moyet ish - good for the Portishead vibe...soulful. Guitard is quite high...i'd say he could do the Janes Addiction thing
7. As it says! A little side project for a few local pubs in the South Devon area. We're currently at that storming stage of what tracks we could do. The band set up is a four piece but the female vox is quite handy on the keys too...I'm sure the guitard also does a bit of keys and vocals. I have a looper/sampler So far we've put in the pot Spin Spin Sugar - Sneaker Pimps, Stupid Girl - Garbage, Glory Box - Portishead, Possibly Unfinished Sympathy - Massive attack, Weak - Skunk Anansie. Despite the female vocals we're thinking some other tracks like Nirvana, Janes Addiction, Chili Pepper, Pearl Jam etc.....any further suggestions - i know i know...there's loads but strictly no Oasis shizzle. I'm pushing for Brown Paper Bag Roni Size but not sure it's justifiable on electric bass haha. Also thinking of a straightforward band name that says it...er 'Strictly 90's' for example ???
8. Thanks, too wide for me. GLWTS
9. Neck width - is it more P or Jazz like do you know?
10. Pierre Moerlen (RIP) & Mike Howlett... A Sprinkling of Clouds
11. Great irie vibes man
12. Awesome basses these, I got a 96 a few months back off here after regrettably selling my 98 some years ago, these 90's wicks are top drawer ...and I love mine. Such a lot of quality built bass for the money, worth twice the price - have a bump GLWTS
13. I had a great VM 4 string, but I'd still choose a Sire tenfold over a VM, the preamp is certainly worth it for the change alone
14. Congratulations , such great basses with brilliant preamps. The low B's are superb too. Hope they will do Precisions with a jazz neck
15. If it has utility 😱
16. Ah my apologies, try this https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B06Gf693ZhUOSq
17. A forgot about this bump. Will take offers 🐰
18. It's looks like the original seller was from Totnes (Devon) you do know that Totnrs was once twinned with Narnia? Although now I hear it is closer to Area51 ...totally off topic but it looks a nice bass
19. I've been doing it for the last 3 years around Devon & Cornwall and love it. I've even dropped a day off my day job and top up my salary with music, awesomeness! I'd say I am averaging around £500 per month after expenses. Pros: Generally good crowds, get fed well, money is decent, good band mates that are supportive, dep bank sorted for time off, been to some amazing venues and sometimes we've been offered free accommodation. We also hire our PA which is a bonus extra £100 for whoever wishes to stay behind at a gig. Become better and tighter with my playing and it has bolstered a bit of improvisation skills for when the moments right. Have fun with some tunes too - ie putting our spin on things! Cons: Tinitus, late nights sometimes, next day fatigue- a challenge if you have children, awful first dance requests, jazzer pro deps who clearly don't learn the set and as aforementioned waiting around. Got to say though I love it 😻
20. Lindy Fralin...simply the best....and probably most expensive
21. Gigging (mostly weddings & functions) has enabled me to reduce my day job from 5 to 4 days...and next years calendar is filling up too! Plus excess wedding food leftovers often means the fridge is never empty - especially for cheese - what's not to like? 😏😋
22. I was there at Bristol last night...my mind is blown - amazing, a new favourite band for me too 😀
