3. Hi Guys, i've had a stupid amount of amp rigs in the last 3 years...... settled on a GKRB1001 2x10 combo, it's loud a hell tilts back and provided all the volume I need for stage monitoring.... our band goes through a RCF pa. Looking to add a RB210 extention cab for bigger gigs...... I'm loving the GK stuff !!
4. I have 2 mates with DB750's both use a Furman power conditioner and have no problems, I borrowed one for a gig once and used it without the Furman, wouldn't even switch on ? Weird amp..... AWESOME SOUND !!! I hope you get sorted with it......
5.
Is there nothing on Basschat? (selfless plug) I have a 91 Fender USA stack-knob Jazz reissue available for £575 (£1200 if you want a new one), with the P&P that would hit his budget spot on! Pics here. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3653
I'd say that was about the best use of £600 I could think of !!

Purchased a series II Alembic from Martin a while back Top Bloke !!
7.
Met up with and bought a set of cabs from Mark pre BW/BT/BC and he really is a top guy to deal with. I'd happily buy from him sight unseen, buy with confidence. Has a habit of finding himself some tasty bands to, no doubt mostly down to his ability
Thanks John.... although my ability to find "tasty bands" is more down to the fact that I put them together so I can't be sacked if i'm crap !! LOL !!
8. I do get that for some songs a pick is going to sound right and drive the band along, however.... I just can't bring myself to use one....... I've just got this thing in my head that says... Guitar = Pick Bass = Fingers and I can't shake it !!

10. Stuart makes lovely basses..... my friend's early Kramer NS2 is one hell of an instrument !! If I was going to have a Warwick it would be the Streamer Stage II with nice Yin Yang inlays
11. I think Jaco has a bit to answer for !! I've done the coffee table thing, and now I want a bass that's lived and been played as an instrument should...... one that's perhaps earned thousands of for it's owner, travelled hundreds of thousands of miles and played a million notes !! It's a romance thing to some extent..... but also old basses, old wood...... TONE !!!
12. Hi Guys, I bought an Sennheiser EW172 Wireless System 3 weeks ago brand new from sounds live, got a great deal at £340, used it once and it's great no loss of tone at all...... Had OBBM make up a lead from guitar to transmitter to replace standard one.... I'm not really doing gigs where wireless is needed to be honest...... so i'm happy with my lead.... £225 posted in mainland UK !!
13. SH1T....... Did I just admit that in public ?
14. I once sat on the phone, (handsfree) at home talking to a mate while pressing play / stop / play / stop on Marcus Miller's Run for cover on Bass Player T.V He thinks i'm just the coolest Bass Player !!!
15. Fretless and FRETTED Jaco Bass...... Oh to just have the Fender Custom shop at your command !!
16. There are some really tastefull Basslines in the 4 season back catalogue......
17. I'm not the worlds biggest warwick fan in fairness....... but this is nice !!
18. Hi Guys, I bought an Ampeg 610 and an SVT classic (new) and was in tone heaven til the Head gave up after about 4 months, replacement head gave up and I was "upgraded" to an Anniversary 810 & head free...... the couple of gigs I did with the 810 before the Anniversary head "expired" I found the 810 lumpy, thic and slow compared to the 610, ports and a horn seemed to suit the live work I was doing. I found the nearfield sound much better with the 610. Ofcourse haveing 4 810's on a stadium would rock but an 810 in the dog & duck just seemed to knock the back wall in while you can't hear the thing 3 feet away....... Great Cab like...... But I wouldn't touch the heads with a scafolding bar !!
19. A mate had a couple....... !! Possibly the most "bouncy" and "alive" slap tone i've heard....... I suspect that tone wouldn't translate well into a regular gigging situation.........
20. I've emailed John many times recently to ask if he has any plans to build a 60's Jazz he always gets back to me...... but he never seems to have anything on the go........ I've asked him a couple of times to build something in his own time..... no hurry & no hassle..... sort of name your price !! he politely refuses, it's a real shame as his work looks outstanding ! Mark
21.
80 bass guitars? And out of all of those you've chosen this one to sell? After already selling one and missing it so much you had to go back and buy another? Are you sure you don't want to sell 60 or so of the collection before letting go of this one?
Hi Guys..... Sorry what I meant was that i've owned around 80 basses - I don't currently have 80 basses in my collection, that would be justr plain greedy !!!
22.
I'm assuming that's PX mate?
Yes mate that's what I meant to say.... i've ammended now ta !!
23.
Would you trade for a kidney? Used, but in good condition.
Not sure about the Kidney.... but a decent liver would be a possibility.... pref one that's not been saturated with JD over the years like mine !!
24.
omg, that's fabulous, if only i had that kind of cash
That's what credit cards were invented for.....
