1. 2 cents: LMT800 + Midget (and Compact should it be needed) = clear, crisp sound. Have to agree the LMT is mids-heavy - but I like that - I always seemed to be missing mids in the past - this did the job. Barefaced (IMO) certainly punch out what you put into them - have a bump.
2. Sunny Poole (or cool, draughty Poole this morning) - the one "dahn sarf" (as opposed to the one up near you)
3. Back up for sale...
4. It really is good - seems very directional. Our drummer uses one about 2 feet from his mic aimed directly at his lug hole and it's plenty loud enough...
5. Again, we've got one of these for sale in good nick - couple of very minor scratches, nothing serious. Comes with the "top hat" type screw fixing for your mic stand or monitor stand and kettle lead. P+P £10.00 More here: <link> Any questions, ask away. cheers, ShaunB

7. ...and my ACG Finn 4 is MM-based (with a piezo) and the mids are fab now! Gigged with awe... Ta John.

9. Lloyd just bought my Lomenzo HyperDrive - painless and highly recommended. cheers, ShaunB

12. Not using this so it's gotta go. ...and away it went. cheers Lloyd! /ShaunB
13. I'd buy it some flowers and wear your best suit... (I'll get me coat)
14. ...try watching your $2,300, 7kg, 100% carbon, custom windsurfing board being "ridden" surfing style up a plane loading ramp by a United Airlines "numb nuts"! *ugh*

Hi y'all, I feel I must pass on some high praise for John East. I love my ACG Finn 4 (quite possibly the best looking bass on the planet - it's 0043 if you want to peak), but although the EQ pushes a load of different tones, it wasn't for me. I contacted Alan at ACG and he wondered if John East could sort my dilemma. I called John and he told me to fire the bass over as he had the perfect solution, "What I would suggest is a variation on a U-Retro 4 Knob Deluxe in order to take care of the piezo. A piezo circuit would be required, which includes a piezo/mag mixer circuit." Interparcel failed me for the first time ever - twice! I opted for a TNT collection on Wednesday and let John know the bass was coming last Thursday. TNT didn't collect. John told me he was awake in the night worrying if he had missed delivery - wharrah guy! TNT forgot to collect the bass Thursday as well and as I didn't want it sitting in a depot/back of a van all weekend, John said ship it Monday - he'll try and get the work done Tuesday for shipping Wednesday to arrive today (Thursday) as Easter is a 4-day courier no go zone. John put the pre-amp in the day it arrived, and then got up at 7:30 the next morning to fit the piezo attenuator (whatever that is...) - sorted, packed up and delivered back here today! Awesome service and one of the nicest people to deal with - a true gentleman - and I have to add... BLIMEY! My ACG is stupendous! Even in passive mode it sounds fab. The U-Retro makes adding a touch of anything a breeze (I am a simpleton) - I can't wait to get it out there and see how it cuts through. So impressed, I've put a J-Retro in my Jazz. Which is nice... Thanks to John East for a job very well done - I can't recommend him highly enough. cheers, Shaun
16. ...no takers?
17.
Any love for Precisions ? 88 Japan Daphne Blue, full tuners! (They started using mini ones around 1990) gorgeous dark rosewood fingerboard! Obviously as a partial trade!
Hey Uke, sorry, not for me :-(
18.
That is a totally stunning bass you have there Sir.!! How would you describe the tone with both the pickup and Piezo mixed together?
The main reason for me selling the bass is the vast array of tones you can get from the EQ. I'm a simple fellow and the filter system will create a rainbow feast of sound... I just like to add a turn of bass or treble. It plays like butter and is so balanced - but I just need a simple life... cheers Shaun
19. Sorry, no 5-ers or fretless... Thanks for the interest :-) cheers Shaun
20. ...and a weekend pop-to-the-top...
21. Just received a mint Fender Jazz from Dave as a part exchange - flawless. Highly recommended. cheers Shaun

Up for sale is this gorgeous ACG Finn 4 with piezo bridge and amber leds. From Alan's website: (hope he doesn't mind me using his pics) Okoume top with 4 mm wenge accent on to a swamp ash body. 3 piece flame maple neck with an acrylic impregnated figured bubinga finger board. Amber LEDS on the side of the neck (fitted during construction - not afterwards). ACG RFB pickup and a Hipshot piezo bridge. Pickup feeding one of the filters in the ACG EQ01 pre-amp with the piezo feeding the other filter. Any questions, fire away.
