1. Price drop: [s]£1,550[/s]... > £1,400.00! One week only! Up for grabs is my Lakland 4-94. Tobacco sunburst with a beautiful bird's eye maple neck. Serial Number 298 which dates it to 1998 - way before Dan Lakin sold to Hanson. The bass has been updated to the Hanson LH3 pick-ups and pre-amp. I still have the Barts and Bartolini preamp which will go with the bass. The neck is one of the best I have ever played and, with a regular degrease with an orange oil concentrate, is smooth as a smooth thing (as recommended by Dan Lakin hisself, for it was he). I'll throw in a new set of Lalkand Formula-G 45-105 Stainless Roundwounds on and courier her for around an extra £20-25 Insured (at cost). Any questions, ask away...
2. Traded a Lakland JO for Jay's P-bass - great guy, fab comms, easy, painless deal. Highly recommended. cheers, Shaun
3. Sold Stuart a TC Helicon monitor - simples! Highly recommended chap.
4. If it's not getting used it should be moved on. I have gigged this puppy for a year and more and to my surprise I received a US Fender Jazz in a trade and haven't put it down. Lakland JO: P/J, Sparkly green with matching headstock - the only ding is a small knock on the bottom of the head - pictured. Other than that - sumptuous. Stacked pots - tone/volume. So, it has to go - if you like Lakland's (buttery) jazz necks and the flexibility of a P/J configuration, then this is right up your street. I may be interested in a trade - but only a Fender P. OK, the story is: Lakland wanted to make a limited edition run for Jamiroquai's Paul Turner. They built a bass to his spec, sent it over, he does some recording with it, but prefers his Fender and moves it along - probs over £4,000 worth of custom bass as a special order (according to Macko who priced it up on the Lakland website, and who I bought it from). Comes with a nice cream Lakland case - P+P £25.00 insured to your door. Any questions, ask away. Der pics:
5. 2 cents: LMT800 + Midget (and Compact should it be needed) = clear, crisp sound. Have to agree the LMT is mids-heavy - but I like that - I always seemed to be missing mids in the past - this did the job. Barefaced (IMO) certainly punch out what you put into them - have a bump.
6. Sunny Poole (or cool, draughty Poole this morning) - the one "dahn sarf" (as opposed to the one up near you)
7. Back up for sale...
8. It really is good - seems very directional. Our drummer uses one about 2 feet from his mic aimed directly at his lug hole and it's plenty loud enough...
9. Again, we've got one of these for sale in good nick - couple of very minor scratches, nothing serious. Comes with the "top hat" type screw fixing for your mic stand or monitor stand and kettle lead. P+P £10.00 More here: <link> Any questions, ask away. cheers, ShaunB

11. ...and my ACG Finn 4 is MM-based (with a piezo) and the mids are fab now! Gigged with awe... Ta John.
12. Bought a Jazz scratchplate off Dave - painless - cheers ShaunB
13. Lloyd just bought my Lomenzo HyperDrive - painless and highly recommended. cheers, ShaunB
14. ...and replied :-)
15. Thanks guys for the input - any takers?
16. Not using this so it's gotta go. ...and away it went. cheers Lloyd! /ShaunB
17. I'd buy it some flowers and wear your best suit... (I'll get me coat)
18. ...try watching your $2,300, 7kg, 100% carbon, custom windsurfing board being "ridden" surfing style up a plane loading ramp by a United Airlines "numb nuts"! *ugh*
19. Hi y'all, I feel I must pass on some high praise for John East. I love my ACG Finn 4 (quite possibly the best looking bass on the planet - it's 0043 if you want to peak), but although the EQ pushes a load of different tones, it wasn't for me. I contacted Alan at ACG and he wondered if John East could sort my dilemma. I called John and he told me to fire the bass over as he had the perfect solution, "What I would suggest is a variation on a U-Retro 4 Knob Deluxe in order to take care of the piezo. A piezo circuit would be required, which includes a piezo/mag mixer circuit." Interparcel failed me for the first time ever - twice! I opted for a TNT collection on Wednesday and let John know the bass was coming last Thursday. TNT didn't collect. John told me he was awake in the night worrying if he had missed delivery - wharrah guy! TNT forgot to collect the bass Thursday as well and as I didn't want it sitting in a depot/back of a van all weekend, John said ship it Monday - he'll try and get the work done Tuesday for shipping Wednesday to arrive today (Thursday) as Easter is a 4-day courier no go zone. John put the pre-amp in the day it arrived, and then got up at 7:30 the next morning to fit the piezo attenuator (whatever that is...) - sorted, packed up and delivered back here today! Awesome service and one of the nicest people to deal with - a true gentleman - and I have to add... BLIMEY! My ACG is stupendous! Even in passive mode it sounds fab. The U-Retro makes adding a touch of anything a breeze (I am a simpleton) - I can't wait to get it out there and see how it cuts through. So impressed, I've put a J-Retro in my Jazz. Which is nice... Thanks to John East for a job very well done - I can't recommend him highly enough. cheers, Shaun
20. ...no takers?
21.
Any love for Precisions ? 88 Japan Daphne Blue, full tuners! (They started using mini ones around 1990) gorgeous dark rosewood fingerboard! Obviously as a partial trade!
Hey Uke, sorry, not for me :-(
22.
That is a totally stunning bass you have there Sir.!! How would you describe the tone with both the pickup and Piezo mixed together?
The main reason for me selling the bass is the vast array of tones you can get from the EQ. I'm a simple fellow and the filter system will create a rainbow feast of sound... I just like to add a turn of bass or treble. It plays like butter and is so balanced - but I just need a simple life... cheers Shaun
23. Sorry, no 5-ers or fretless... Thanks for the interest :-) cheers Shaun
24. ...and a weekend pop-to-the-top...
25. Just received a mint Fender Jazz from Dave as a part exchange - flawless. Highly recommended. cheers Shaun
