3. Sounds like its been done better ,loads of times before.
 4.
bump
Great sound , lovely bass. I have to say you are a VERY good player, one of the best i've seen on here , loved the fretless clip as well thats the sound i want Good luck with the sale i'd say you'd get your asking price but may have to go down the Fleabay route.
 5.
Maybe....but I can also guarantee that there are players on this forum who have done gigs that he couldn't have done if he hadn't made a career with one band. He's cool within Level 42,but for an 'amazingly talented bass player' he's never been 'in demand'.
If you were about during the 80's think back. His posters and endorsements were in every music shop in europe at the time. From Trace elliots to rotosound strings, Status basses, Jaydees ,Alembics, Yamaha delay units he was the biggest name in bass at the time. If your saying he never really fulfilled his bass potential i would agree , he could have been STILL the biggest name out there if he'd have done the wooten/miller circuit, solo albums and tours and instructional dvds. But i think he's like a lot of us on here and is just a lazy sod who likes a drink and a larf.
 6. No because the feckers didnt come to Ireland
 7.
Just goes to show – I could listen to this for hours, certainly as an alternative to Mr Berlin. Weber's playing is generally restrained, melodic, and thoughtful and it doesn't sound like someone who wants to dazzle with technicalities. I fully accept that to others it will sound just terrible, but that's why we keep having these interesting discussions, because thankfully we are not all the same.
Best post yet
 8. I loved "Pump it" and got a few recordings last year of Jeff playing with John McLaughlin in a trio which was great ....BUT his solo albums of recent years i dont like and i used to LOVE his playing. I'd rather listen to this these days ...
 9.
How strange, I could have sworn I left a comment on this one previously. Maybe I'm getting old or have I been censored ?
Same here ,obviously we werent in a rush to part with our hard earned in a recession for mediocre muzak so it was pulled
 10.
Interesting array of basses on display tonight, and only one Fender among them (and then only for one song). I liked Queen Emily's stuff, great voice, good band, nice Kubicki Factor the Mark Ronson stuff was, how to put it politely? different... and the Klaxons? how am I supposed to respect a band that plainly can't even be arsed to tune up properly?
I thought the Mark ronson tune was different class all the rest was SAD ! "Use me" was TERRIBLE the bass stifled the groove and didnt allow it to breath.
 11.
I got hold of a nice duet album today.. Keith Jarrett and Charlie Hayden - Jasmine. Nice and laidback. Preview Video Garry
Cheers for that heads up mate ..sounds great , i love charlie haden.
 12.
According to his website, Dave's playing a Dingwall six string Prima Artist.... http://www.dingwallguitars.com/products/prima-artist/
I thought while watching "what a great sound he's getting " .
 13.
i hate to diss anyones playing, i really do.. but i spotted this and just thought ..overplaying... if you check out the rest of his vids.. this guys playing is spot on... maybe he had taken some nose candy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR5ltYDqM5A...feature=channel
SERIOUS overplaying !! But you see it all the time a player gets a bit of chops and it turns into the Gimpolympics ! Good player but needs to let the groove breath.
 14.
+1 Pete Townshend said a similar thing. I reckon he's got one of the best voices in popular music though.
Is that "wheres the book " Townsend ?
 15.
Re. the Sting / Jaco comparisons I'm sure that Sting would be the first to be embarrassed to be compared to Jaco as a bass player – different stratosphere mate! Jaco composed some nice pieces of music (Portrait of Tracy, etc) but there is no doubt that Sting is a far better pop/rock songwriter – the Police were one of THE great singles bands……
Sting actually has said that one of the greatest musical nights he had was after one of the synchronicity gigs jaco came backstage and played stings steinberger, blew sting away invitation, giant steps,Donna Lee,teen town jaco tore through them all, Would have loved to have heard that.
 16. I'm a BIG Sting/Police fan . Shadows in the rain - love that bassline , the use of space with summers expensive tonal colours constantly changing the line ahhh musical heaven especially live . Deadend job - great pumping bassline.
