1. I used an early 4003 (2 piece scratch-plate) for years and never had a problem with the factory pickups, so they're the only ones I have any direct experience of, assuming the current crop are similar I recommend getting them.
2. What's the wood and construction of your bass and what's your desired sound?
3. Can you link to page 64 and onwards if they're hosted? It's a bit of a cliffhanger atm.
4.
But can he do it on a wet Wednesday night in Scunthorpe?
I'd think he could.
5. Had an early nineties P mim from new for a couple of years, sure it felt like a twig compared to my 84 4003 I'd been using however sound men liked it and it was very easy to get a good sound from. I never really took to it though, didn't have a soul. But hey it was a good tool and did the job.
6. Hmm sticky online tings.
7. Where are you trying to download from?
8. Have fun in Glasgow, just don't make eye contact with the Pigeons.
9.
Dressing up like that will definitely get you offers of relatively well-paid work, Milty, just not necessarily as a bass player.
Allergy Warning: Contains Nuts.
10.
Helpful= Full of "help"
New sig ftw!
11. I can't see it doing any harm, unless like me you're crap and just getting back after a 20 year sabbatical.
12.
MB1. Naughty Step Mr Moos3h! PM your offers please!
Is that a Forum rule? Cheers for the info. alyctes I've been looking at your bass for the last month, very tempting but alas the time is not right for me. GLWTS
13.
Crikey I remember watching this ! Just brilliant .. I loved She's Got Claws ( Gary Numan ) too , mainly for Mick's contribution . He was also the main reason for my liking Japan , superb stuff .
Yeah Mr. Karn is such a cool cat. Here's the above in 480p.
14.
You probably don't need a new/better bass, but if you want it, providing it doesn't impinge upon the maintenance of the roof over your head or the regularity of your meals then go for it. If it's street cred you're after then don't buy a Gibson bass - you'll be met with a mix of disbelief, confusion and ridicule in about equal quantities A Gibson SG will feel kinda familiar to you and I guess the addition of the bridge pickup will give you some variety, but for a complete change of sound it's probably best to go in a different direction. Fender Mustang will be completely different to the EB-0 but equally limited with the single pickup (but that sound might be exactly what you're looking for). If you think you could stretch to 32" scale then there's the Squier VM Telecaster Bass Special, which has a Wide Range humbucker at the neck and a Jazz pickup at the bridge. Just some ideas.
Parp, Thanks for that, the 1st minute and a half or so is very nice and the baroquey outro.
15.
Hi has the asking price changed? . Couldn't see no change on your post
It was last edited jan 8, she sure is nice, Lovely burst.
16. Last week I wanted a new bass this week I have one, all thanks to Pete for selling his bass to me. The sale was smooth, the price was cheap and the packing perfect and I'll gladly purchase from him in the future. A totally recommended top-hole chap!
17. project_c just say the word and I'll think of it no more. And I don't have the cash having bought an ashdown EB combo and a bass since last pay day.
18.
..and it won't go for £150 that's for sure.
I can so see that stripped, sanded and stained. Oww gas...:parf:
19. So this bass has been sitting unsold for about 2 months and the stores response is to raise the price again. Were I in your shoes I'd make a similar offer assuming he set it up (Is the neck still in need of a tweak as per your other thread?). Good luck.
20. That's a lovely looking bass, where did you get the pearl plate?
21. If you can carry a tune I'd go 4 for I so her standing there, up the bpm a lill and they'll love you.
22. Photos, not at the mo. It's an aged cream/ivory finish with a rosewood neck and tort gaurd, the hardware's all old looking.
23.
You might find a good set up including pick up heights will do the trick. Or you could swap it for a beater I,ve got hanging around. Pick ups ,you can go seymour duncan,Kent Armstrong ,Wizard only available second hand now or any of the others. I would give it a good service like a car.
Done all that bar having some working pickups, nice low setup at least acoustically. Next month, hopefully, some pickups.
