5. Hi all, Looking to sell or trade my Lull P5 which I've only had for a short time. Lovely bass but the 35" scale length is not quite for me and so it's not getting used as I had hoped it would plus I need to free up the cash really. I bought it from Bass Direct in September (2nd hand but as new). It comes with the hard case too and is in near perfect condition (one small knock). I would like £1700 (they are approx £2200 new) in cash for it or a trade / trade plus cash . Trade wise am interested in: Musicman Classic 5 String, Fender Precision 5 String, other P-bass type 5's or an amp for my upright - Acoustic Image or similar. But feel free to make a sensible offer! Here are the specs from the website: http://mikelull.com/...bass-P4_P5.html Here are some pics: Any question etc drop me a message Thanks Ian
6. Ok hadn't clocked that re.price. I have a valuation for 12K and a valuation for 15K. In the current market I would accept 9K. Thanks Ian
7. For sale is my French upright bass. Beautiful French instrument currently set up with orchestral strings. It has had a fair amount of repair work from when I bought it - small hole in side repaired, back plate put in, small split on front repaired. This is all documented and I have physical pictures of the work done too. Lovely slim neck and plays well - has been used for jazz as well but would require different strings and perhaps a set up too. I have had two separate valuations for this instrument which can be seen on request - one from Ed Smith (North East based luthier) and one from Helen Pegram at Tim Toft Violins - both reputable individuals. Price on request - PM me basically.
8. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/185395-fsft-black-78-fender-precision/ Of any interest?
9. For sale or trade is my black '78 Fender Precision. It's not getting any love since I moved towards playing five strings so I'm reluctantly moving it on. All original - including the ash trays with the original foam under the bridge plate. The sticker on the back of the pick guard matches the headstock number too. It's got a good action, strung with flats so its a chunky sounding beast. It's a nice playable '78 Precision basically - any questions I'll gladly answer. I'm looking for either £1700 cash or a trade (plus cash if appropriate) for a five string with a precision type vibe. So if you've got something you think might interest me drop me a message. Thanks! Ian
10. I agree with all the comments - nice bass, good neck if a little slow and sounds like a P-bass with a low B. I've got my slung with flats - the B just gives me a bit more range, a thumb rest for when I'm playing on the E (!) and means the string spacing is a little tighter which makes it slightly easier to get around. Recommended if you want a 70's funk/soul P-bass kinda sound with a little more range!
11. Yes it's PSU only and of course the power supply is included. Sorry for not making that clear!
12. I'm definitely biased (see my signature) but I've been using a really light weight set of chromes of my P-bass and feel like I've got the best sounds I've ever had. Fat sound but not too bassy and importantly not too heavy on the fingers either - something I've always found a problem with flats is the tension. I'm playing mainly funk and soul though but recently playing some tunes with a pick ( a rare occurrence for me) on a touring theatre show have found them to be bright and still cut through the mix. Take the plunge and try some but my experience tells me that you'll probably go through several types and manufacturers before you find exactly what you want. I feel outrageously lucky to have found an endorser who makes strings for both instruments that I really dig. Good luck with the search
13. Sorry for the delay - didn't see this last post. Here we go: bass in the case:
