1. A cheeky little meet up in Kings X Station to handover the hard case - felt a little like being in a (slightly rubbish!) spy movie! Great comms throughout. Highly recommended. Enjoy the case and good luck with all the gig.
2. Sorry - yes 26 frets. 33" scale. The ramp makes it great for doing all that palm muted RH Erskine stuff (if you're into that sorta thing!).
3. For sale or trade is my ACG single cut. Got it in a trade last year but just isn't getting used. A few too many knobs / electronics for me. All the pics and info on the link. It's got a few knocks and scuffs but nothing very noticeable. Happy to provide further pictures as required. http://www.acguitars...-type-5-string/ Ideally I'd like to trade it for a Telecaster bass, or a nice 5 string P bass but I'm open to all offers - direct swap, swap plus cash etc etc.
4. Great comms, super quick delivery, zero hassle or problems. Thanks for the cash / trade and enjoy the box. Highly recommended* Enjoy the DI box. *I love getting to write 'highly recommend' on all these feedback bits I do - us bass players are a nice lot!
5. Great comms, paid straight away and nice to find out we'd played together! Brothers in funk! All good with this bass-chatter! Ian
6. Hiscox Lite-flite case for sale. As new - was used to send a bass to me last year and then been put in the loft and unused since. They're about £100 new so £65+£5 towards the P&P (£70) is a bit of a bargain I'd say. Has "The Bass Cellar" embossed on one side and the interior is a lush green. Any Q drop me a PM. Check my feedback too. Thanks Ian
7. Hi SK8, I'd be interested...looking at your price of £75 on your original post I'd be happy to trade plus £30 from you - I'll knock £5 of the P & P for you. Hows that?
8. Pretty much as new - still with original boxes - one still has the plastic wrapper it came in. Both used for a couple of gigs before I realised they weren't really what worked for me (passive instrument and passive box = not such a good combo). Total bargain at £110 each (approx £160 new) including P&P. If you want both I'll knock off £10 so £210 for the pair incl P&P. Happy to trade one for a decent bass distortion pedal (e.g. MXR81 or similar) Any questions drop me a PM. Check my feedback too at bottom of page. Cheers Ian
9. Perhaps interested in trading for a Radial Engineer JDI passive DI box?
10. Just bought Neil's EBS delay pedal off him. Super quick replies to messages, sent it straight away and arrived as described and works brilliantly. Thanks Neil, pleasure doing business. Highly recommended! Ian
11. So, Doing Jekyll and Hyde next week in the theatre. First doubling gig I've done in a theatre. Looking at the score its actually really unclear where a lot of the changes b/w instruments are and even between arco / pizz in sections. Does anyone have any experience of this show? Am I to assume that it resets itself to double bass for each new number unless specified? There are sections where is says 'electric bass', then a few lines later says 'electric bass' again...as if I should have been playing some double bass b/w those two sections despite there being no indication to do so. And tunes where it suddenly says arco (or pizz) despite there having been no indication that previously it should have been the other? Either I'm being an idiot or its been really bad scored out (NOT unusual I might add for theatre scores - I've had to read / interpret a lot of rubbish over the years). I'm assuming in true classical tradition everything should be arco and on the upright unless specified otherwise but it'd be nice to get confirmation? Thanks Ian
12.
It was sent without a proper box?!
Sure I sent it fully wrapped in a lot of bubble wrap having being read on this forum that it was probably better to send it with the handle showing (and therefore clearly an instrument) as opposed to a big box which could contain anything. Perhaps I was wrong (and happy to be so) but the other bass I sent to Europe similarly wrapped arrived fine and I've received multiple basses similarly packaged with no damage to their hard cases. I've also flown with my bass in lite-flight case only (not wrapped / packed) and put in the hold and only once in about 30 flights have I had any damage done to the case. I've also seen my bass from the aircraft window being lobbed down by the ground crew unloading and watched it drop down and clunk round a luggage conveyor.... *slightly defensive rant over* So...it's probably the luck of the draw I suspect with this kinda of thing. Also isn't this why we put instruments in flight cases - so the case, not the instrument, takes the damage when people throw it around, drop things on, its shifts in transit etc etc. Faithless - I'm happy to provide you with backup re.the case although I don't have any photos of the actual case which probably doesn't help. Email if there's anything I can do to help at all on this - sorry its proving a problem at your end. I never anticipated that you would have to claim on the flight case being damaged and that it would end up being the hassle its seeming to be. Cheers Ian
13. Bought a bass from Ferenc - brilliant comms, super quick delivery and really well packaged. Bass is all it was described as. As previous comments - don't be put off by it being in Europe (use the 'interparcel' website) - it just takes a little longer to deliver is all! Highly recommended! Thanks
14. How about a trade for a Mayones Jabba Classic 5?
15. Would you consider a Mayones Jabba Classic 5 in trade?
