1. neck width at nut 44mm neck width at 12th 58mm string spacing is 19mm at the bridge although the string spacing can be adjusted - the saddles can be moved individually - you could probably make it 20mm. Measurements taken using a stanley tape measure rather than any precision instrument ! Don't know what a standard string spacing would be(if there is such a thing) although the one on this bass feels noticeably wider than that on all of my other basses
2. Cheers Kev - if they haven't gone by the weekend I'll stick them on Ebay and see what happens. Including the postage is probably ok on some of the smaller pedals but I charged £7.50 on the DL4 and it actually cost me £21 ! Having had bad experience with a variety of couriers in the past I'll only send things insured.
3. Hi Rich, Sorry for not getting the dimensions to you last night but I didn't feel too well. Will definitely get everything you've asked for to you tonight. It's £1045 (cash on collection or cheque and you arrange your own courier to collect it ) I always talk to my missus after the guitars have been delivered - that way she can't stop me getting them !
4. NB. I am going to Bass Day on Sunday and could bring the bass for collection here if that helps anybody out. Obviously I don't want to be lugging it round with me all day so will only do this if I have an actual sale rather than any speculative enquiries. If we say cash on collection you can then see and hear what a masterpiece it is before parting with your hard earned readies !
5. Rich , Sorry for delay will get them to you tonight - the string spacing is 19mm. What other dimensions do you require : at the nut and at the 12th ? Regards, Ed. Thanks, Richard
6. Sorry Nick - stole the name from the Gerry Anderson series UFO in which Ed Straker is the main character !
7. Pris, Is the restaurant going to be open all day - it was a bit a bit of a shame that it closed so soon after the start last year as there wasn't a great selection of grub in the cafe ? Also is there going to be a printed programme this year as that was also a bit of a pain not knowing what was happening and when without looking at the main notice board. Only minnor niggles though - it was a fantastic day last year, really enjoyable and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and it is good value for money.Shame Bond aren't on again, I found them the most enyjoyable not being a fan of jazz widdling myself. regards, Ed.
8.
Another victim of the clearout to raise cash! Markbass Micromark with tweeter box. Mint condition (less than 6 months old) £300+p&p. Now available to buy on Ebay
bump
9. Don't know how many fellow basschatters are going to bass day on Sunday but can only say what a great day out it is. I went to my first one last year and was blown away by the sheer craft of the instruments on show. The trade stands included Shuker, Overwater, Goodfellow as well as some excellent general stands for picking up bits and pieces. Some of the performances were also sublime - Jeff Berlin showing what a true master and entertainer he is ( and I don't especially like Jazz) and also Bond was thoroughly enjoyable with his vast array of effects. Having seen the list of talent on this year it looks like there is something for everyone so I would certainly recommend it to anybody who can get there. Also guitar god Joe Bonamassa is on at the academy the same evening - a perfect opportunity to kill 2 birds !
10. Hi Rich, This particular one has quite a flat profile which is what appealed to me having small paws, although the string spacing is quite wide. If you are going to go for a Shuker custom build (would definitely recommend it - Jon is one of the most skilled luthiers your are likely to meet and is a great guy as well) you can specify the exact neck dimensions you require and therefore get whatever feels most comfortable. Regards, Ed.
Been looking at these on the Shuker website for some weeks now... this would be the one I would be after too, thru neck, 4 string... do you know how the neck would be compared to my (quite chunky) Warwick Wenge neck? Richard
11. Another victim of the clearout to raise cash! Markbass Micromark . Mint condition (less than 6 months old) £265 delivered

13.
is the multiplex the xo or old skool version?
it'd the old skool one.
14. All pedals below bought brand new within last 6 months and have only been used at home (and not very often !!) so are in perfect condition. Morley Dual Bass Wah £65 delivered Digitech Hyper phase £40 delivered Will except Paypal, cheque or cash for collection in person (Liverpool) .
15. I've just received Overwater's newsletter which details the basses in stock and there are 2 Progress 3's (absolutely gorgeous they are too) one for £3000+ and the other not far behind. I'm not sure if the woods these are made from are more exotic or they are a special spec but they do seem a bit pricier than usual. Has anybody noticed the price of customs increasing ? I suppose if makers are being hit by increased costs they will need to pass this on to the customer to stay in business, as I imagine the profit margin on customs in not very high.
16. Purchase of a new Fibenare guitar (check them out they also make delicious basses) means I will definitely have to part with my Shuker now. It's relisted on Ebay if anybody is interested.
17. I sold a Canyon 3 to cash converters yesterday for £200 as it was stuck up in the loft unplayed. It looked fantastic in the spalted maple finish but to be honest it sucked big time and is vastly overpriced. There isn't much you can do with it tonally (a fellow basschatter though the electrics were broken it was so limited !) and the lower horn on the body is so short it is really uncomfortable to play sitting down. Not sure if I got a bad example, but the routing on the back was that rough it was snagging my shirt and I had to sand it down. Eye candy only I'm afraid - but if you are still convinced you want one there is one in Cash Converters in Bootle !
18. Just an update on the Micromark - having had a good play with it I don't think it's as bad as my first report. If I keep the volume and input levels down I can get a gorgeous tone just going through a Blackfinger compressor. Still don't think it's worth the money and it is limited in it's application but it's not a complete dud as first reported.
19. Never Say Never 2 Guitar purchases at the weekend mean the Shuker is back on sale at £1045 . Is there no cure for this addiction!!!!!
