  1. 4.4 kg? That is on the light end of a Classic Ray 5! Nice!

  3. I am looking to sell this beautyful StingRay 5, USA, 2003 in Honeyburst. The bass is in very good condition considering its age. Only the unfinished maple fretboard reveals that this instrument has been played regularly. Besides a small chip next to the jack I do not find any deep scratches or dents (see images). Comes along with the original hardshellcase that has a dent on the lower site but is still fully functional. The bass is located near Munich, Germany. I am happy to ship to UK and all over Europe (please ask for costs). Let me know if you have questions. Price: 890 GBP/1250 EUR plus shipping. 4. I can not believe it is still with me. This is an awesome jazz bass! Go for it!
  5. I think on each band's setlist are some songs you like more or less. If the rest of the set is okay for you and you feel well among your new bandmates - why not give it a try? Perhaps one day you will see the song kicked out of the program. A bunch of people playing music together always goes along with compromises, I suppose. (Most boring song I ever had to play: Michael Jackson - Give in to me)
  6. Great bass. Played a Schack Unique 5 for more than 16 years. Miss it today!
  7. Bought a Soundblox pedal from Gilles. Great communication and instant shipping. Gilles a great seller! Thanks so much.
  8. Great to hear so much positive feedback. I play a Bongo 5 HH and 5 H. I'd say these instruments are by far the best I ever had the pleasure to play. What I probably like most about them is that their tone is so even all over the fretboard. I really wonder why they do not get more love in Europe. In the USA they seem to be pretty popular.
  9. Sold Pete a 20th Ann. StingRay 5HH. It is really easy to make business with Pete. I can only recommed. Thanks again, Pete and have fun with the Ray!
  10. Now that's what I call bookmatched. Great looks!
  11. Agreed. The B-String is thunder. Very tight and defined up to the higher registers.
  12. Hi Jóni, Thanks for your interest. It is a 34" scale bass with 19 mm Spacing at the bridge. 44,5 mm at the nut and 12" radius fretboard. Plays like butter and allows for lowest action without any buzz.

  14. I play a Music Man Bongo 5 HH as my main bass. With the PU blend and the 4-Band EQ I can do almost all the sounds needed in my Top 40 band. In addition I bring a second bass to the gigs just because I like to play it (a StingRay or BigAl). I pick them where I think they are approptiate for the tune. In addition I am using a pedalboard to spice up the tone a little bit (Valve Drive, Octaver, Chorus, Envelope Filter). So much for the theory. However, what I have learned is that not even my band mates do care whether I play E,W&F's "September" with a kind of disco Stingray Sound or the neck humbucker of the Bongo. And on stage I can not even hear the difference between my fancy Soundblox Orbital Mod. Chorus and one of the Chorus-patches on my Zoom B3 myself. So I more or less tend to have my "signature" sound, perhaps a little tweaked towards the original tune and try to have as much fun as I can with my basses. Finally I assume it's more about the groove and tight playing that gets people to dance then the authenticity of the bass sound in a cover band.
