  2. Hi yep indeed. This is why I suggested the Warmoth dinky P. They also make chambered and hollow bodied variants.
  3. To be fair not many people can afford to manufacture bespoke, hand tooled items in 2022. The world has changed.
  4. The problem with scaling up any business is that it involves compromise. That may mean compromise on quality, culture, ethics or service. If I owned a small long running, successful business that was my passion I would try to keep it as close to my control as possible. Then again I am no Alan Sugar and that whole corporate world leaves me cold. Also once a business reaches a certain size it can become vulnerable and require risky loans to break out of that zone between being a bespoke relatively risk free operation that provides for a low number of people to a more risky business requiring significant cash injection to scale up and employ more people, buy premises etc etc. To survive this transition manufacturing often is offshored and this is when quality and service can nose dive.
  5. Im not sure Warmouth offer either of those but a luthier certainly would…
  6. I don’t know the weight but a SD single coil P pickup cant be heavy? Someone on BC had recommended them so may know. Added to a swamp ash or basswood Warmouth dinky P with rear cavity and 2 light weight knobs and it must be pretty light?

  11. I think we will have to agree to disagree. Slash’s Snakepit being a good example. G&R members for the most part but didn’t have the same impact. it’s not about the name but the body of work produced by the artists involved at a certain period of their lives. Great vocalist or not Axl Rose brought a dynamic that worked perfectly for that band in that era. Edit: In the same way during MacGowans heavy alcoholic days I saw Jem Finer taking vocals (he sings better) but it wasn’t the Pogues. It was an average pub band.
  12. I don’t see bands this way. The creative input and personality of the members lead to what music they produce. Without Axl Rose, Guns &Roses wouldn’t be the same band. Maybe they would have been a better band with better songs or maybe they would have gone nowhere. But they wouldn’t have been Guns & Roses.
  13. I guess we could say the same about PiL, The Cure, The Pogues etc Alfie Boe has a lovely singing voice yet if he fronted any of the aforementioned bands they would have been cr@p.
