1. we put a set of nexus on all the basses at the music college i work in (4 jazz and 2 precisions) we thought having them coated they would retain some brightness and last a bit longer (they're used 4-5 hours a day every weekday) unfortunately they went dull in no time, seemingly faster than the rotobass strings we had on before and all the coating came of very quickly,we swapped them for a non coated DR low riders and they've lasted 4x as long but they are a bit pricier!
2.
Do you sell them cheap too? I'll give you £50 for your Schecter
Oops I should edit that! Sold it last week, for a bit more than £50 though
3. i've clearly been buying dekos for too long as £75 for a bass seems to much!
4. the fender ones on my P bass make the strap stick out around 2cm from the horn
5. if you can pickup a deko for around under £50 you can test it out, if it turns out to be unplayable or you hate the neck you can sell the parts make back your money and buy a full price one!
6. i'd be tempted but any Deko over £40 is too rich for my blood!
7. https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_bz_5000_nt_deko.htm?o=8&ref=mal_a_8&search=1444742340 first time iv seen one of these pop up, now sold out though
8. i got a Deko one from thomann for £20 fixed the issues and now use it as my main gigging backup
9. i had the same problem on my 5 string (Non-deko), i put it down to it being cheap Jack socket and just replaced it with one lying around, i also found it didn't hold the jack in very well and it felt like it would fall out even when just sitting about the house with it
10. stop posting these 6 strings! i dont need one! or do i..........
11. iv found a lot of basses havent got the ground running to the bridge which i find is a common cause of the unwanted buzz, although all my Harley Benton's have had the bridge ground present and the Deko shortys are great fun!
12. Progressive up https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_450_black_progressiv_deko.htm?o=4&ref=mal_a_4&search=1443926692 And U bass https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_kahuna_clu_bass_ukulel_deko.htm?o=5&ref=mal_a_5&search=1443926794P
13. also looking out for PB50s (i know i shouldn't), got an idea for swapping the pickup out for a filtertron or something a bit different
14. You know things are bad then your relieved you DIDNT end up buying a bass!
15. if i post the links then someone will buy them before i just say sod it and buy another! its quite clever really!
16. My PB-50 turned up today and just had a quick check over and play at work and it has finally happened, this bass can actually be classed as unplayable, as you cant fit a jack into the socket due it being too small in circumference. other than that it is completely fine and once i took the cheap scratch plate off quite lovely to look at! iv got loads of spare jack sockets at home as it will be a 2 minute fix and hopefully i very playable bass! i especially like the very chunky neck Also https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_jb_75_na_vintage_serie_deko.htm?o=5&ref=mal_a_5&search=1443442177

19. +1 on "Build Your Own Electric Guitar" by Melvyn Hiscock i built my DIY guitar and bass using that book in the woodwork room at school! (they didn't turn out great but it wasn't the books fault!)
20. Recently came across this sticker covering that is advertised as being for covering cars to upgrade there paint jobs with ease so I thought it might be a good idea to get some to stick onto my pile of Harley Benton deko basses to breath some life into there rather boring pick guards! I picked up a length of metallic green as I thought it would work well with black bodies, it cost £6 and there's easily enough to cover 4/5 Precision plates. After about 20 minutes of work with a sharp craft knife and scissors my test basses boring white pick guard, one from a HB shorty P the bass, now look significantly better!
21. Shipping conformation came through courtesy of Carlos Cordeiro!
22. also got conformation email! must be a few PB50s in
23. yeah i duno why that is i normally check the mobile site (well have it constantly on my phone so i see it every time i access the internet ) and it seems to update quicker than the computer site, it also annoyingly keeps everything that is sold out for a while after, so you know what bargains you've missed!
24. Loads of dekos are up on mobile site jazzes and 50s P May have 'accidentally' order a 50s P I don't need one but there £20!
25. I've got the Mobile page on my phone so check it every so often, glad it's getting some good use, I hate to think of stuff sitting in cupboards it under beds when they could be getting some use somewhere!
