1. Ordered one yesterday, hopefully if the necks straight and not ramped and just needs fret work and set up it'll be a bargain! definitely wont be putting it on my main 2 basses but 'hopefully' will be great for little build projects and mucking about! ill report back when it arrives sometime in the next MONTH! i suppose that's what you get ordering form china, for a low price and with free postage!
2. in true style the guitars all went in about 1 minute! popped in an order for the Beat bass as a mate wants one, lets see if its successful!
3. all but 2 of the 10 iv had (not all for me i promise!!) have been fine build wise just some electrical problems such as dodgy input jacks or a loose wire. the 2 with the most problems were with the neck (high fret or a small ramp in the neck) everything else was sound, ended up giving one neck to AT as i had a spare lying around and the other i got playable after a good setup. I've had quite a ferw that were fine setup wise straight out the box, especially the PB-50 with apart from the dodgy input jack was perfect!
4. Anyone had any experience with these? seem a very good price and could be useful for some of my Thomann Deko projects if there good quality. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quality-Maple-21-Fret-Neck-For-4-String-Jazz-Bass-Clear-Satin-Replacement-/361316499913?hash=item54202441c9:g:4ccAAOSwpDdVdJXB any advice info would be appreciated
5. i believe that scuff is the D stamp, clearly someone went a bit overboard with it! did this model come with wilkinson pickups? my sunburst one did and they sound pretty good to me!
6. I'm a fan of the Prodipe TT1 about £40 really solid and great sounding similar to a Sennhieser MD421 (a £250 mic) and a telefunken M80 (again a (£250+ mic) use them live and in the studio for different tasks and prefer them to the industry standard SM58. Paul white from sound on sound is also a fan and he knows a thing or two! heres the review http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct10/articles/prodipe-tt1.htm
7. arrive today and had a little play on it at work, luckily its a music college so no shortage of amps! it seems a fun little bass, weighs nothing looks cool and sounds pretty sweet! ill get to practice next week and give it a real test!
8. i dont need to buy a tenth deko...... or do i! someone do me a favor and treat themselves for Christmas :
9. im the same on the jazz! dont need one, dont really like jazzes, but its looks good and costs very little! also annoyed i missed that Strat looks pretty sweet!
10.
the hollowbody PRS a like sold before I saw it too. Would really love either of those but I need to sell on some other first otherwise I will end up divorced.
iv got the PRS copy only fault was a slightly raised 7th fret actually a very nice guitar but maybe not worth a divorce!
11. i know right, we thought we were fast with getting the basses those pesky guitarists have perfected the art!
12.
Dunno why I got rid to be honest. I know the guy who has it, so it isn't far away
are you going to buy it back or steal it back haha! i would of liked the 3 pickup version but again hard to find!
13. A while ago i was gassing for Danelectro DC59 bass, as i love the danelectro style, but due to them being rare as toothed rocking hens droppings, i started looking at the Hodad bass reissue, but due to them also being quite rare and a bit too expensive for me at £300-£500 decided against it and resolved my GAS issues by throwing my money all over the Thomann deko page! as time passed i forgot how much i wanted one and pushed them out of my mind until today when i was having one of daily eBay scouts and came across a Ex-demo Hodad bass in black (if it was blue it would have been perfect but you cant have everything) for what i think is a good price at £175 buy it now, so i snapped it up, hopefully it will arrive Thursday and i can have a muck about with it at practice! its always nice when something randomly pops up! now i can try and emulate some Fat Mike. and it should hopefully keep me entertained till i can finally get hold of a DC59! obligatory picture also included and will take more when it arrives! 14. because something newer, shinier and different popped up? isn't that normally the case
15.
I've set up a Direct Debit. They ship me a random Deko bass every month.
if only! would make life easier, i think i do buy one every month! (not all for me. promise!)
16. woop! hopefully yours doesn't have the Godzilla of dead spots like mine did!
17. Little update on my PJ HTR with the horrible dead spots, put in a new nut and some set up and now it's fully playable, the actions only a little bit higher than I like but it'll do for what I want! Next is to swap out the horrific scratchplate!
18.
Hahahaha, sneaky!!! I don't suppose you mind sharing what app you use? I installed page monitor into chrome the other week to see if that'd let me know about any updates, but with no luck =( Just seen that a few of the PJ HTR deluxe's have gone too, damn!!!
It's actully the one in chrome, it just gives a little green notification in the corner, then let's you see what's changed by highlighting things green for new and red for removed
19. Iv got the mobile site open on my work PC desktop pretty much all day with an app that tells me when the page updates, it's cheating really!
20. i duno, 2 bad necks out of 8 dekos is probably quite good!
21. i fiinally got and unplayable deko come through a PJ-4 HTR. MASSIVE dead spot on the 1st and 2nd fret on the D and G looks like the neck has a hump just there, but the body is perfect and is missing the D stamp! so gona be looking for a neck. anyone know what the ones on ebay are like that come from china, there about £30! (£10 more than the deko bass but still cheap and come in maple!)
