    TC Nether -

Having owned multiple OC-2’s I started looking for another. Damn they’re expensive for what they are…gone are the days of a £55 Taiwanese OC-2.

Anyhow - this does the same job…within reason. Really like it actually.

Great pedal. Very underrated I think, and considering the price, you can't beat them.

Ian Martin Allison has some great videos on YouTube where he tries to get very specific sounds on his stomp recreating specific songs etc. Could be useful to hear if it’s the kinda thing you’re aiming for if you’re needing persuasion.

Oooh, thanks @krispn.  I'd forgotten that he was something of a boffin where the Stomp is concerned!!  Excellent top tip!

IMO it is. If you want to control everything, maybe the XL would be better. I used to use only effects when I pairing with a preamp. I finally downsized my pedalboard and the HX also replaced it.

Thanks @javi_bassist.  For me, right now, it's all about smaller is better.  I've had massive boards in the past, and I've realised that all I really want is 2 or 3 drives and octaves and maybe a chorus or 2... the rest, not so much.  I've just joined a cover band that does a lot of the "modern pop/rock" stuff (or utter tosh, as I like to call it hahahaha) and I need a mild, medium and heavy drive.  With octaves, I need one to double track and one to emulate (with some drive) a 70's keyboard bass.

Long story short, the Stomp really appeals from a "it's the size of a sandwich" perspective - and if I ever want to use the bells and whistles, they are all there.

Yeah, I don't think it will detract from the overall look with a Sadowsky logo also applied and you can always sand it off at a later date if you want to.

The look of a thing is very personal, she doesn't get it what's important to some of us bass players.

Hahahahaha ... she and I have very different ideas of the aesthetics of a bass, but I think in this regard, this bass "needs" that Brand Logo!!!

I see that it doesn't have the awful Tesco Metro decal, good stuff. It would still look way cooler with the proper decal though, but you know that already. I look forward to seeing that upgrade in die course. ;)

Yeah, much happiness here when I saw it didn't have the TescoExpress decal LOL

I know where to go to get the Sadowsky one (even though my wife says not to be daft)... I will leave the round RSD decal on I think - it's still pretty cool.

  6. The wait is over!!!!!
Yes, it's the baby... no, it doesn't (yet) have the VTC preamp... buuuuuuuuut, after literally 5 minutes plugged in.... this is what I think...

There seems to be none of the fret end issues that I've read so much (and dreaded) about.
These are pretty much what I'd expect from a well set-up bass

The eq, set flat, is amazing! Let's just say that A/B'ed against my Cort, which has Delano pickups, the Sadowsky beats, nay, slays is!!!

It's lighter than both the Cort and my old model Ibanez BTB 6 (and that means tons to an old man like me)

I will go out on a limb and say this much...
I've played a Sadowsky only once before (in another life in South Africa back in 1999 or 2000) and it was a MIA top of the line 24 fret model, which blew my mind.... so I have almost nothing to base my impressions off... but what I just played is HUGELY better in feel and tone than the above mentioned Cort, a MM SUB, which also had Delanos (not painting a good picture for Delano, am I?), and probably sits nicely under previously owned MIJ, early 90's Yamaha TRBs (5&6) in terms of "wow, this is a great bass). I mean that... it's not just platitudes because it's "new bass day" for me, I really honestly mean that.

To Roger (thank you for the emails BTW), Sadowsky and Warwick, I say thank you!! This one is a keeper!

  7. I've found the (Sadowsky) logo on etsy and several other places. I'll see which one is best. I'm also considering asking Roger Sadowsky directly if I can get a genuine one...

My wife says I should look for a stencil, transfer the letters to the wood, and not a decal. Will see about that too. I'm sure Sadowsky uses a print stamp

Dragged my big board out of storage recently for a rehearsal.

Ok, so it's a bit of a tiddler compared to some of the monsters on here recently. I've gone for classy and portable.  Power is through a Strymon Zuma on the underside.  This does everything I need, and I can pick it up in one hand at the end of the night.  My first chorus was a Carl Martin, so it's nice to have one on board again even though  the Corona and mxr bcd were both very good.

The Carl Martin Bass Chorus is one of those "why, why, why on earth did I ever sell that????" pedals... a real beauty of a unit

    A couple of questions:

    - you have a good tech, if it's the one you mention in your 'For Sale' ad.  The ad mentions the action and the seized truss rod but not how much bow (relief) there is in the neck.  Has your man confirmed that it is the neck relief/trussrod adjustment that is causing the problem and high action rather than the neck angle?

    - is the fretboard gloss finished?

    - are you happy to (or would your man) take the neck off and send it by post and refit?

    Hello @Andyjr1515

    - he said that the truss couldn't move and was not willing to apply brute force in order to attempt it.

    - it is not super gloss, but there is definitely a gloss coating

    - I could do that if it were deemed to be worth it... again, I don't want to throw good money after bad here (the dilemma is real hahahaha)
But yes, I can take it off easily enough

There are some risks involved with taking off fretboards and replacing them - worst case it that it could end up as a scrapper, best case (without a full refinish which then starts becoming prohibitive) is that it would probably be visible that the fretboard has been removed (especially as the side dots appear to be drilled along the join) - but it is a possibility.

See, if it's a scrapper, it's only value then is in the HipShot tuners.  And yes, the refinish is the crux... and an expensive one.

I am thinking more and more that the neck refit is not viable...

many thanks for slapping me about the head!
