  1. Indeed. They are ‘shelving EQ’ types that I suspect will be 12dB/Oct at a guess.
  2. Greetings Professor Falken..
  3. I can confirm there are only 11 Basschatters. The rest is true 😂😂😂
  4. This one appears to be the active version rather than passive.
  5. oh: here they are: https://www.reddogmusic.co.uk/catalog/product/346604/fender-micro-di?gclid=Cj0KCQjwrZLdBRCmARIsAFBZllHwdnUvy2oOTZxr2UsaFdfULo12B7BgeEwz-zqMayM01BV-wvvBkhoaAnDbEALw_wcB Though I am so sure I didn't pay that much!
  6. I've not seen any reviews save for a youtube video of a chap demoing one for guitar, which is what I'd originally bought it for. I stuck my bass through it and was surprised to hear that it sounded rather good. I don't think I have the RTA results, but if I get a moment I'll do it again. From memory there's a nice low and low mid bump and the top end curves off probably down at 3Khz-ish. But there was no loss of low end measured down to 30hz, maybe lower. I'll see what I can sort out. I actually have two of these little chaps in my box of goodies for stereo use.
  7. My trick for instant ‘old skool’ is to use a Micro DI pedal. Either the Mooer version or the Fender rebadged. I think there’s other ‘rebadged’ versions too. It has a ‘speaker sim’ switch on it that in reality is just a complex EQ curve that mimics the “sound” of a 4x12 guitar cabinet. Having run it through an analyser, there’s no roll off on the low end to worry about. It’s a super cheap way of fattening up and adding a dash of chewy mids at the flick of a switch. Oh and it’s a DI pedal that can drive a power amp too. £30 and plug it in to any amp (even an ultra clean D Class) for that drop of vintage.
  8. YAYY!!! Well, as I understand it, I think I recall Dave Ellefson telling me that he records a lot of his bass lines at home on a (much loved) Precision bass. So, I guess the answer is a resounding yes!
  9. I went to the Royal Albert Hall concert! Similarly in a brief moment of pin drop silence we heard someone shout out, "it's got SIX strings!!" Thing is, Fripp seemed to just wander on stage under a single stage light and start. Everyone around me was asking if it was a sound check!
  10. Another One Bites The Dust was the very first bass line I ever learnt!! And yes, I did funk up a bit of AOBTD to see what this lil dude sounds like. It's a big PHAT sound from this one! I guess what some would call "chewy" and "creamy" rather than "zingy", but I might be forced to crack out the last set of Flex Steels I own on it, just to see how they balance (being really bright).
  11. Just adding to the list for others wanting suggestions too, I'm using DeepDish Gig Book on ipad. I liked it better than some of the alternatives but it's probably down to preference and personal ease of use.
  12. Can’t see it myself....... ........ .....
  13. Yeah I will need some Unbelievably Powerful Sedatives to get through another round of Unusually Painful Shipping.
  14. Not just yet! Maybe when I’ve been totally beaten to my wits end. Right now, me and it will be hiding in my man cave dreaming up some badass grooves! It’s definitely coming with me for Amp and pedal reviews!
  15. This month I actually feel like I was born in ‘36 lol!!
  16. You wouldn’t believe the relief when I met the courier today (who most definitely didn’t show up in a UPS van or uniform lol)
  17. Yes, it was a worthwhile experience! *I love that song so much
  18. Probably still gonna happen at some point.
  19. I ❤️ BC (Probably gonna need to get a new BC polo shirt lol)
  20. Goodness me, thank you. 🙏 That’s really thoughtful Aside from this debacle I’ve not been “in a good place” for a while now, so these words mean more to me than you realise. This bass is to remind me of where I came from. Ey, no pressure ‘76 P, alright?
  21. Oh maaaaan have there!!!! PHEW! Thank you so much indeed, thank you! Incidentally, on the subject of QUEEN: This day in 1976 they played their famous free gig in Hyde Park to an estimated 150,000+ audience. So I'm celebrating with my new bass
  22. And here she is, the object of my affections. One Y.O.B Fender Precision Bass (1976) Of course in natural with a rosewood fingerboard. This is a very specific configuration for a reason. Firstly, because I grew up listening to Queen. The late-70's mid-d80's era of John Deacon's "main" precision bass actually had it's sunburst finish removed to natural, rather than this one that came as is. Said Precion bass ended up having a refinish in black with gold hardware, which is rather sexy! Anyway, I digress... I've been trying to find this spec bass for ages and have never been able to afford one. (I've just sold lots of bass gear!!!) Also, many years ago, my mum helped me buy my first precision bass (which I tried to re-buy last year when it resurfaced some 25 years later on this very forum, but the seller wouldn't budge). I've always felt rubbish about selling it, so it will help put my mind at ease now that I have replaced it. - Funnily enough, same colour scheme! And, finally, to bring this long tale to an end, I have of course a huge thank you to make. WUNJO GUITARS https://www.wunjoguitars.com for being, frankly, bloody amazing in all of this. I've had so many conversations with Jimmy in the bass department that he's practically family now. They kept on at UPS every day and would not let this situation drop for a second. They've displayed a customer service that I've not experienced "when the sh*t hits the fan" and get my thorough thumbs up. I'd also like to thank Tom who stepped up to the challenge of recording me a whole bunch of videos so I could see and hear the bass in action as I was unable to get down to London to see it in person. Now that we are getting acquainted, me and the bass are gonna see if we hit it off together. We've just played through the whole of Queen's The Miracle from start to finish and that went pretty well.
  23. Yes apologies! My day has been a busy one away from my computer mostly. Ok, if you are all sitting comfortably, then I will begin. But first, a quick recap. UPS Customer Services up until this point had taken 8 days to do what essentially feels like "not much". At the 11th hour, the UK CEO stepped in after a lengthy communication from the shop supplying the bass. And...... can you chuffing believe it, FOUND THE BASS in what seemed like 30 minutes flat! Yes, it took having to track down the UK CEO to put this debacle straight. Needless to say, the box (condition unknown at the time) was sent straight back to the shop in question to be inspected. I had a long, long conversation with them about how I was feeling and then FINALLY yesterday said box of joy was despatched out to me:
