1.
Enfield http://www.enfieldguitars.com/
I've reviewed the LionHeart bass and have to say I was very impressed with the pickups. I'd love to get my hands on a Cannon bass next to try out as I feel that Martin and team have really done well with creating a pickup unit that can cover P, J and MM in one unit. Put two units in a bass and you have a really flexible system. The LionHeart bass is a very nice piece of kit too. I'd also echo the sentiment above looking at Shuker as a custom builder. One of the finest set of craftsman hands we have in the Uk,
2. The list of Class AB amps is a long one (i.e non D Class) - is there anything else specifically you are looking for in spec? Weight? Power output etc? How about separate pre and power amp components? Is that do-able?
3. The Novax Fan Fret system I think is absolutely brilliant! It makes total sense and tonally is what every bass player needs in their life. Sheldon Dingwall (of Dingwall Guitars) has the system nailed I think with an extended 37" scale length for a B string. Sounds superb and as others have already said, it's actually surprisingly easy and comfortable to play a Fan Fret bass. Even a 6 stringer! Yeah I'm a fan. I'm pleased to see other companies giving it a go too.
4. Definitely check out Keith McMillen's kit: http://www.keithmcmillen.com http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Keith_McMillen_Sotfstep.html I understand that Billy Sheehan asked for the '12 step' which is as you'll see a keyboard that definitely sends note information. I would be confident that Keith's other controllers can do the same. You'd probably need to label which button is programmed to do what on your Akai though.
5. Another bump for a superb amplifier - it fits in to a very shallow rack case as it is only 21cm - which is about the same depth as a 'lightweight head' and only ways 5Kg! £550 shipped in the Uk ono (within reason) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Number of channels: 2 Watts per channel @ 4 ohm 800w RMS Watts per channel @ 8 ohm 480w RMS Watts per channel @ 16 ohm 240w RMS Bridged mode @ 8 ohm 1600w RMS Bridged mode @ 16 ohm 1000w RMS Input sensitivity: 0.775V Frequency Response (+/-3db ref 1kHz) 8hz-24kHz Weight: 5kg http://uk.matrixamplification.com/media/mconnect_uploadfiles/m/a/matrix-gt-2u_1600.pdf
6. Honestly never been driven hard either. The carpet on the outside has a few little rough patches, but this cab hasn't done a day of hard work in it's life bless it! The price isn't low because it's knackered, the price is low as I've spent too much money on new toys and need to sell this quick
7. Staggered to see this still for sale! I'd like to get this one sold as soon as. It's all wrapped up getting no use now so would like it to go to a good home!
8. Silly price bargain, but not at all abused. A great cabinet for low end thunder!
9. Barefaced and ACME gear users will no doubt approve of the power available from this beast of an amp. Like the Barefaced and other lightweight cabinets, this amp won't break your back either. Last chance before eBay! (Will have to factor in auction charges so the price will be higher there)
10. I guess that yes I could make one myself, but I thought I'd ask here first in case anyone had a jig already thus saving myself a bit of work I think I may have a work around too that I'll try over the weekend. My main concern is getting one of those pin holes in the wrong place and spoiling the look of the guitar by having a wonky key. Even worse for that matter would be totally messing it up so the key can't be fitted properly at all! ha!
11. There's a nut on the front of the headstock too It's very secure, honest!
12. You can see a little prong sticking up out of the back of the tuning key here. It's a locating pin, rather than using a normal screw hole. The benefits being that you are less likely to sheer off one of those little screws whilst installing the key. The only downside is making sure that you have put your pilot hole in the right place prior to installing this key. The Jig ensures you do it correctly and effortlessly!
13. Cheers TBird! I'd found those posts already as well as Stew-Macs own site - but as they are US based I was looking for someone a bit closer to home who might have one. That's before I shell out for a luthier to do it for me!
14. Hey all, I'm after one of these: http://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools/Types_of_Tools/Jigs_and_Fixtures/Tuner_Pin_Drill_Jig.html Which is as you can see a jig to help me drill the correct positioned holes for a set of locking guitar tuning keys that feature the 'pin' type mounting. To buy them from Stew-Mac plus shipping is costly and a wait of up to 4 weeks. So I thought I'd ask here first! Dan

18. Front and back images borrowed from somewhere else!
Full Description It features flexible control of the signal path, 16 gate/expander and 16 compressor/limiter audio-optimized presets with intelligent TC multi-band and full-band technology, innovative new style compression, state-of-the-art TC quality, and an extremely intuitive and straightforward user interface that gives you access to complex and comprehensive dynamic processing with a few buttons and simple operations only. C300 is mainly meant to be used in insert applications. Optimized presets The C300 gives you source-based presets that are tailor-made for various types of sources. Depending on the preset you select you have access to intelligent TC full-band- or multi-band technology. The C300s multi-band processing is built on a state-of-the-art TC algorithm that bases its calculations on the incoming source, and thats why its called source-based. A multi-band compressor, as opposed to a full band compressor, acts differently on different frequency bands. That means that each frequency band actually has its own little compressor working on it, with unique settings like threshold, ratio, attack and release. If you for instance prefer a steep compression on the lower frequencies, a soft compression on the mid frequencies, and a bright and light compression on the higher frequencies, you should use a multi-band compressor. The C300 comes with several presets that are fully optimized for this kind of compression and you`ll be surprised to discover just how easy multi-band compression can be. New style compression an innovative approach to compression Based on thoughts behind parallel compression you get a completely new approach to working with compression. Now you can take a compressed signal and mix it with a dry signal and enhance all details in the music, just by turning the mix knob. What that does to the sound is that instead of pressing down the signal peaks you preserve all the higher dynamics when you play loud, and at the same time you bring out all the details from the lower end of the signal. Try and apply parallel compression on a drum kit. Youll discover that all the lower details are smack in the face, while all the bells and high dynamics of the snare and cymbals are preserved and uncompressed, so to speak. And the really cool thing about it is that the C300 makes parallel or new style compression the easiest thing in the world just select the appropriate preset, and youre up and running! Simple, intuitive and straightforward The entire user interface has been laid out to be simple, intuitive and straightforward. All non-essential knobs and tweaking possibilities have been cut away, and replaced with innovative combinations and expansions of parameter indicators and knobs. For instance, the gate and the compressor are both controlled with the same knob, giving you improved and much faster access to important parameters. The sound of TC The C300 gives you highly advanced TC algorithms that will process your sound with extreme precision, ultimate audio quality and outstanding performance. State-of-the-art audio converters are built in, ensuring your passage from analog to digital and back, is in the very best quality. The entire music and audio business has celebrated and awarded TC Electronic for its outstanding products. TC will for many people be synonym with superior and excellent quality. Flexible control of the signal path The C300 comes with a flexible routing feature that gives you all combinations of parallel and serial link modes. Stereo serial mode allows you to process a composite full-mix signal on both engines simultaneously, virtually giving you an extra device. With the C300 you can insert a stereo full-mix signal into one engine, e.g. compress it, and then send the stereo signal into the second engine, and e.g. limit it, and then send out a processed full-mix stereo signal. What that gives you is the full use of stereo processing on two serial connected engines.
I sold one of these previously, here is a lot of info' for you to check out on the old advert: http://basschat.co.u...essor-and-gate/ Superb condition and has lived in a smoke free studio room in a rack. Pictures coming soon! The bass patches sound amazing alone in triple band mode and oh yes, there's parallel compression in there too! £80 plus shipping, Uk.
19. Would like to shift this one on asap. Masses of power in a light weight package. Great for ERBers or just those struggling to keep up with noisy guitarists. Matrix is the go to amp for a lot of AxeFX users owing to it's warm 'valve-like' character, so they say!
20. Bargain hunters! Come and get it! A highly regarded cab with a big clear sound!
21. I ran it at a 'school party' function gig with no PA support. Ok we weren't exactly loud but it supported nicely. The 4.5XL i also have for sale on BC would definitely cover medium and loud gigs with authority!
22. Yes good call! You'll find me on their links page I think! They wound the original custom strings for my 7 string too when I took delivery from Jon Shuker.
