That's good to know! I'm keen to get my head round the stereo side of things. In terms of the effects that usually are stereo, do the modulations all offer stereo staging and what options do the delays and reverbs have? (Ping pong, stereo tap, reverse / hall, room, cathedral effect types etc) The manual doesn't seem to mention effect parameters - hmmm!!

Brilliant review! The Multiamp makes so much sense and to be honest, on paper it looks like what I have been looking for for years! My current rack system is a hodge-podge of pedals that I am trying to logically control, separate rack effects and preamp gubbins that can't adjust parameters on the fly. Even with out a lightweight amo in the equation it still weighs more than the advertised 5kg of the multiamp. I am very interested in trying the S version - it could solve so many gear related problems I have. An end to my search??? I suppose the next question would be in choosing a pair of cabinets that would best suit the modelling properties of the multiamp. Thank you for taking the time to review. Great to see a unit that is bass specific finally.

update: I've just spotted in the manual that the Cab Sim is treated as a block on it's own in the signal path which is a really good idea. Therefore, I've answered my own question. It can be bypassed. ACE

Hey Kevin! Thanks so much for the detailed response. Yeah, I think this looks like a really interesting proposition indeed. I am very interested in giving the S version a whirl as it seems that the kit that I have used up until now could well become redundant (with the exception of the odd pedal I'd want to hang on to of course!) One other question - can the Cab Sims be turned off so that the amp is left in the signal path?

Hi RedSlap! Thank you for posting. I'd forgotten to update this post. Currently the cabinet is on hold for 4Strings who has said they'd like it. Should anything change with that then yes, I'll probably have some trade ideas. -
The details online are pretty sparse. I'd love to know what effects are actually on board the Multiamp. I think for the in-ear user this could be a really nice piece of gear. One box does it all??

The GK will sound louder as the Hartke Transporter I am pretty certain has a much lower sensitivity and thus will appear quieter on the same volume setting. Which will sound better is for you to decide and of course, you can always push the volume control up to make up the difference.

The Nova Drive is a cool pedal as essentially it is two distortions in one. I'd describe the two as a Tubescreamer overdrive and a RAT distortion. The overdrive has a clean blend (excellent!) - What is interesting is that you can configure and save all of the settings as well as the routing as a patch! You can run A into B in series, Bin to A in series or both in parallel!! The reason I have made a point of saying this is that by running both effects in parallel with a clean mix too gives you everything from a mild 'grit' to a filthy distortion when both are maxed out together. Using the dry blend allows the low end back in and also some top end clarity too. Both pedals have an EQ section - the distortion in particular allows you to boost bass AND treble (rather than one tone knob) so you'll get that top end bite back - but you also have the option of quite a lot of bass boost if that's what you need. For that cleaner crisp bite I would roll the lows off the pedal then dial in some top to taste. It's an ALL ANALOGUE signal path too and fairly touch sensitive. You can make it bark by digging in. I like that it can be controlled externally via MIDI - but you don't have to use that function at all. You can just press the two buttons on and off! Hope that helps - do ask any more questions!

I recently reviewed the Seymour Duncan Studio bass. I wanna buy one! I've been a massive fan of the TC Electronic Nova Dynamics pedal that I'd recommend in a heart beat, but they are getting harder to come by. The SD has turned out to be a bit of a dark horse. It's pricey, but certainly in the time I had to review it I was very impressed.

If you're using it mostly in the house, the the 4x10 will be a beast! - If you want to go smaller, the D series 12" cab is a good purchase too - it does the 'Eden' thing well.

I really like the WT550 - yet another piece if gear I shouldn't have sold. I have reviewed the 610xst which sounds superb but the weight will let down those looking to go lightweight.
