Sorry to be a boring b*stard, but again from the Aguilar TH500 manual..... "Power Output: 500 watts into 4 ohms, 250 watts into 8 ohms" I own one of these amps and It is LOUD. Used it with a 2 x 12 4ohm cab 1 x 12 8ohm cab 2 1 x 12 8ohm cabs linked up together and a 4 x 10 4ohm cab The only combination of any of those speakers and amp, that might have struggled with a loud drummer, was the single 1x12 8ohm cab. Or so I thought before the gig, but it really didn't, enough volume for a pub. It all depends on the efficiency of the speakers. Loudness and/or volume isn't measured in watts is it ?

I don't think that the above post is correct, the amp has mid level and mid frequency controls. from the manual EQ Section: Bass: +/- 17 dB @ 40 Hz Mid Level: +/- 16 dB Mid Frequency: 180 Hz – 1 kHz Treble: +/- 14 dB @ 4 kHz

This is great advice from Downunderwonder, and it will show non-functioning/broken speakers, or speakers that are wired out of phase. Out of phase speakers will be "fighting each other" and will wreck the sound. After you've checked each cab individually, repeat the battery test with both cabs wired up together. * All the speakers in both cabs should move in or out together, if not something is wrong. And if so it is a very simple fix. Let us know how you get on with that. * Apologies .... I was assuming that the cabs are daisy chained (speaker cable into 1st cab, another cable from 1st cab into cab 2). I'd forgotten that the TH500 has two Speakon outputs. If you using both Speakon outputs to each individual cab then it will be a bit more of a faff to check the phase of the cabinets is correct, but not impossible. How are you connecting the cabs to the amp? Do the cabs have Speakon or jack inputs? Are both cabs 8 ohms? And please please please Whatever you do.... do not put a 9v battery across the instrument cable into the amp !!!!!!!!!!

Think these are active basses so try a new 9volt battery. Usually the circuit switches on when a lead is plugged in, so don't forget to unplug it when not in use.

Leave the H2N recording for the entire rehearsal, everbody forgets it's recording, nobody gets stressy with 'Take One, Take Two' etc. When you get home, pop out the SD card put it into your computer, edit out the chitchat, adjust the stereo image. Marvel at your bands godlike genius 😀 (My band split soon after that but in all honesty Zoom cannot be held responsible)

My geetar has developed some fret buzziness and my amplifier is making weeeeeird noises ........... wtf !!......... Easy fix for a qualified master luthier/amp tech here in the Netherlands, hey, lets reach out to each other? Yeah ? Help a Bro out here???? You all know we are a VERY VERY socially aware band 'n' it would be so cool if we could play some kinda benefit gig for orphans/refugees/displaced persons etc.. etc..whatever it was we last discussed with the image management team. I thought this was common on VVT Jazz basses, both pickups on full you get a slightly mid scooped sound with what is, or which sounds like, slightly less volume. Pretty sure I've read on here or similar forums that some players think this scooped sound is a desirable feature of a Jazz bass. Suppose it depends on how you define 'notable', if the volume is dropping like a car off a cliff then something else is er... wrong 😀 Also with my Jazz you would probably only notice at gig volume

Be interested to know the guitarists history with any other bands he has been involved with, has he always had this lazy selfish attitude ? What happened to those previous bands ? How long has he been involved in your local gigging scene, for instance? Is he really so good on guitar that he thinks he just doesn't need to learn songs prior to a rehearsal? Downloaded Basstation, its now sitting in my VST folder in Ableton as a demo version, timing out every 5 minutes or so , how the hell do you authorise it ? The Novation/Focusrite website seem to suggest that a memory stick is needed to download the authorisation code!!! If this is a free Download why is it so difficult to get the damn thing working ?
