  1. Stacked pot for independent volume and maybe independent tone sounds interesting. I think that would be a huge beneficial change. I’ll get under the hood and see if I can figure out what to do. If not, I’ll be back.
  2. I just got myself another CIJ Jaguar as I do love the look and feel of them. However after I got it I remembered why they get on my nerves.... I wondered if anyone has ever added a blend pot to enable even just a subtle roll off of one or other pickup? Or maybe changed the control plate to VVT? The current controls are bridge pup on / off, neck on / off or both on / off. The control plate is Volume, Tone. My real question is whether this is feasible with the current set up.... And also I was thinking of swapping out the preamp for something that offers boost or cut rather than the on board cut only offering. Just wondering.......
  3. On eBay, a cheap £395 buy it now for a 94 CIJ Aerodyne Jazz if you can get to Tredegar. I can’t otherwise I’d grab it... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F223475438450

  4. It’s mine, all mine...... Thanks Martin and sorry for the delay. Looking forward to resuming my love affair with Eden bass amplification.
  5. I asked for a serial number on this but the seller came back and said it’s an Indonesian made bass.
  6. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F153368136437 Here’s an interesting hybrid of maybe an 80s jazz bass special body with a newer aerodyne jazz neck but I’m not sure on the body. The seller says the body has PJ55 stamped in the neck pocket but isn’t that the model for a Tokai?
  7. SOLD. Up for sale is my 2004 / 05 Non Export Made In Japan Aerodyne Jazz bass. Trades just added. May take a cheap Mex Jazz or Precision in exchange with cash my way. Reduced to £550 including insured UK postage but only with a gig bag. Grab a bargain. The non export version is rather rare and differs from the normal export Aerodynes in that it has a pick guard and has chrome hardware instead of smoked. Some say that it is exclusive to Japan because it is so good that Fender USA didn't want them exporting. This one is no exception and plays brilliantly and sounds fantastic with the combination of P and J pickups giving it plenty of bottom end thump with added snap from the jazz pickup. It's in great condition and benefits from a full professional set up including fret level, crown and polish, fretboard treatment with lemon oil and relief, action and intonation set up plus new strings. It’s a 34” scale, has a jazz width neck of 1.5” at the nut and weighs a very lightweight 7.5 lbs. It has a few age related dings mainly on the bottom edge. Those have been filled with black paint so are not visible until close up. The bass comes with a decent Fender padded gig bag. I'm based in Chester so it can be tried, collected, I can meet up or deliver within reasonable distance and of course will post anywhere.
  8. I’ve just checked again and found that the year is between 1997 and 2000. I was quoting it as a 93 bass but O serial numbers which are Made in Japan are 93 as opposed to Crafted in Japan which are made between 97 and 2000. Sorry for misinformation.......
  9. I’ve just checked again and it’s a 93, not a 99 bass. My mistake deciphering the CIJ serial numbers.
  10. Have a free bump from me for a great looking bass.
  11. There’s a long story and a short version, the short being that sadly it has to go,
  12. Thanks for the positive comments. When you get such positivity it makes you wonder whether to sell or not......
  13. Having just checked again I now find out that this is an O series bass, Crafted in Japan so made between 1997 and 2000. I first thought it was a 1999, then revised the listing to say 93 and it looks like I was probably right in the first place. Sorry about that......... Up for sale is my Crafted in Japan Fender Precision PB62 reissue in naturally aged Olympic white (possibly cream now....) with red tortoiseshell pick guard, after market high mass bridge with rosewood finger board on similarly aged maple neck. It's just been fully set up with relief set, frets levelled, crowned and polished, fretboard treated with lemon oil, action set nice and low, intonation set and has new strings. Condition wise it's got a lot of surface lacquer cracks on the front and back, on the back has some wear through the finish next to the neck plate and the back of the neck has a couple of small dings which don't affect playability but it plays well and sounds huge. The neck is a very playable 1.65" / 42mm wide at the nut, depth of 21mm at the nut and the bass weighs in at around 9 lbs. It comes with a decent gig bag and I'll ship it pretty much anywhere double boxed. I'm in Chester but could deliver or meet up within 100 mile radius or so.
  14. Me too but it’s not been pulled by eBay. In fact I think he may have relisted it himself and once again there are a lot of bids. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273610910548 Very annoying as I’ve emailed him and he said he wasn’t a guitar expert but would wait to see what other people thought before doing anything.
  15. It’s back up with a different seller who also doesn’t know much about guitars. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F312377086090
  16. It’s lovely to see an expert at work. Genius.
  17. Bass direct had a very similar FMT about this time last year priced at £1250.
  18. £675 posted for a brilliant example of the Geddy Lee CIJ Jazz.
  19. Price drop. £695 incl UK postage.
