  6. I dont get what the fuss is about most of us must watch great bass players playing over a well known track to show off there skills or promote some new gear , and showing off there chops in a promo and what we play in a band situation are rarely the same

  18. what about the squier v.m.j. fretless ,they are great bass's and at that money you can always stick a preamp in it personally i would have an outboard pre instead !
  19. I agree you should get rid of him if he cant hear whats wrong then he never will sounds like another case of guitaricus egotisticus to me !
  20. I wouldnt go for the Mark bass if you like the Trace sound and will be playing funk and disco stuff i would consider an Ashdown A.B.M. 500 and 4x10 which you should be able to pick up for not much more than your budget s.h. its not light weight though but sounds closer to the Trace sound ,a bit warmer and more valve like..
  21. Yep i think your right sounds like a p to me !
  22. Phil Miller was playing not far from me [Safron Walden] a couple of months ago ,with Jack Monk on bass Jack's a fanastic player as is Phil and they are as experimental and searching as ever i would thoroughly recommend catching them as they will be playing around that way again soon ...they also have an album recorded last year and Richard Sinclair sings a track or two and sounds in fine form ..www.relativesrecords.com
  23. I loved it and enjoyed it very much ,the walking line works for me the piece has a Giant steps vibe but with a more melodic Bill Evans slant and i especially like the the drummer look you get when you miss a note at the beginning of sax solo ! I get a lot of them if i try to play giant steps
  24. Looks great i have the Bass collection 'Detroit' p bass and its fantastic I want a tort p.g. now !
