  1. Well, that is the LT updated to 2.91. Can't say I notice a difference, still has a million and one things to select, although I guess now it has a million and two! Might as well drag the HX FX in and do that too.
  2. Indeed - I get that. It is comparing apples with oranges, but I guess if people need that I don't think I am really - its not a 'synth', I think the problem is that it has synth written on it, its more like 'synth effects' for a guitar / bass.
  3. Odd - never heard anyone say that their distortion pedal or their HPF had great tracking. Exactly the same thing!
  4. Why do people keep saying 'tracking'. This thing does not track, it is not a 'synth' in that sense. You are modifying the smoothed waveform you put in, there is no pitch detection like in something like the FI, GR etc. Sorry, my pet hate with this! Some of the sounds are pretty samey, but never exactly the same and I think that is because they are variations of the same thing. I mean they could have just provided the 9 basic sounds, without the variation knob and it *still* would have been a great pedal.
  5. Well, true, but I loved that little brown bass the first time I played it and I still love it Its the perfect 'house bass'
  6. I love the sound they get on this on the record. And surprisingly I didn't even think about it being a harmonica on the record until I saw the video!
  7. I have used new tones, both for a short scale 5 string Set and for a chapman stick. Can take a while but they worked well where I used them
  8. Yeh, if it had a sample playback and a SY-1 built in it would be ideal!
  9. Yep, pretty well how I use it. I like the paths thing because I have a distortion which is pitch dependant, in that the bass goes through a soft overdrive and the treble goes to a harsher distortion. On one pedal though. I do like you can overload whatever pedals you want.
  10. The keys have all the effects they need, so never really tried it. When gigging the synth sounds come from the iPad (and I don't have the LT).
  11. I think the difference for me is that I didn't use patches, I use it like a bank of effects on one patch. Well, actually I have another patch that I use for a set of completely different songs (and another for another group). So I have a bit of narrow echo on all the time. The amp has the tone controls and the compressor, and I have a separate HPF. I need the pedalboard anyway as I need wireless, sample playback and keys so it has to be small enough to fit in that. This is why I am getting rid of the LT. If I didn't have the keys I would stick with the LT, it is clearly better, or if I was a guitarist., especially a non singing, non keyboard playing one.
  12. I think the Pod Go is an ideal form factor, I assume from the button spacing that it is the same size as the HX FX, but with a footpedal. If they could put a full helix in that (even at helix price), I would get it.
  13. I have tried that but found it depressing! What I have done is start going through the songs and recording them part by part so I can really listen to them. That is what I intend too. I hope to have had a chance to listen to all those songs and redo the parts that I always did wrong!
  14. Why would the group have drifted apart? My group has no reason to be in contact apart from gigs but I have no doubt that as soon as we can gig we will be out there. Luckily we don't need much practice, we are pretty terrible anyway I am still playing regularly anyway at home. Probably more so now.
  15. I think that Line 6 are pretty clear in all their marketing material about the position of the HX FX. It is an effects unit for people who want to use their own amp. I still believe that at some point in a few years, with companies snapping at their heels, they will make something which is the same as a full helix in an FX sized case. But not for a while yet.
  16. Have they? Its not on their release notes. Judging by the time and the release notes, 2.91 is a patch round a problem in 2.90, and 2.90 lists all the things it adds, which includes a new amp and cab models for Helix Floor, LT, HX Stomp and HX Native, and new effects for Helix Floor, LT, HX Stomp, HX Effects and HX Native.
  17. Lovely as expected. although for me the dream bass is the one on the left. Or the one on its right from its point of view, would still love one like that but lack the skill to make it!
  18. Better dig out my HX FX then from the Gigging pile, seeing as it is not going to be doing much for a while! Actually in these times of lockdown I guess I might as well redo it. And I might as well update the LT and spend some quality time with it. Maybe I can spend some time working out if snapshots are any good for me.
  19. Its true that you wouldn't. But then if you are on an iPad pro you wouldn't need to put that on a table either! The size is a massive difference. Part of the reason I am getting rid of my LT at the moment is that it is bigger than the space in my room. If I was gigging it it would be fine, but I am not because I need a lot of other things (well, and I am not gigging at this very moment, but that much is obvious!) Fair enough. I never got on with the zoom multi recorders, although I swear by both the little video and audio recorders I have, the H2n and umm.. whatever the other one is called!
