4. Made in 2008 (last year of the FB4 before it became FU4) Purple metal flake Matching headstock Gloss neck SD pickup Aguilar preamp Badass bridge Original case Weighs 9.55lbs, 4.3kg I've had 5 of these, this one was easily my favourite all the way. Due to health issues I'm unable to send, so it's collection only from Harrow, NW London. 5.
So nobody tried arguing that wood makes no difference and it's all in the fingers eh?
Because my fingers have such a natural dub and bass heavy tone to them, I need maple on a Precision or Stingray to balance it out!!!
6. Sold some strings to Lozz, perfect gent and hassle free. Thank you
7. Sold some strings to Dave, perfect and hassle free. Cheers
8.
I take the opportunity to show my '64 Lake Placid P once more....
I take pleasure in seeing that once more! Nothing better than an original custom colour, delicious
9. I'm just wondering how the bloke from Lord of the Rings became their singer.
10. I bought one of these recently to use with my Telecaster, unbelievable pedal and stands alone against others. Perfect for low and natural gain settings, like an only valve tweed amp on the verge of, or starting to break up. Has a nice hard tone that other pedals lack on a low gain setting. Killer pedal in the right hands, GLWTS.
11. Hahaha Right you are! Actually, I was wondering why I never said anything when you first mentioned it, but then I trusted your judgment and felt that you're a big boy and all that....
12.
Quite, who would want to mess with a thirty-six-year-old virgin..?
Oh, that's why no one wants me....
13. Good move keeping it virgin Mark, i'd hate to be the one to mess with it after all those years.
14. Hi Ped, I'd love to give these a go, my sweat kills rounds and I'm forever changing the strings on my Modulus. Answers to questions.... Yes, I've used Elixir before, but a long time ago when they first came out. I currently use Thomastik, Labella & Fender flat and D'Addario and GHS rounds. I will use these consistently on a Modulus FB4 and will try them on my Mike Lull PJ4 to test performance. They will be used at home and for recording, Over 20 years experience using various strings, and I constantly test which strings are best for my basses.
15.
Thank you sir... very pleased with this one, even though it's the wrong colour... Looking for a Modulator Bass now, got to get the set!
Well, when you find that white one let me know, I'll buy it so you can pay for the Modulator!
16.
Thanks for the link, which covers pickup height moving across the strings from E to G. My question is about pickup tilt in the other orientation. Looking down from the top edge of the bass, the left-hand edge of the front pickup that's closer to the neck is lower than the rear edge. Opposite for the rear pickup. If you can blow up my photo, I think you'll see what I'm trying to describe.
Could be the foam underneath has degraded, they should be level. Worth taking a peak under the pickup
17. Sounds about right for a P Bass. This may help you. http://www2.fender.com/en-GB/support/articles/bass-guitar-setup-guide/
18. Great review Mark, sounds lovely and big in the mix with some unique authoritative character. Nice grooves too No doubt these are real gems from the past, value for money and sweet nostalgia, really happy for you pal.
19.
Not called for, mate, and pretty unfair.
I've deleted my first reply Jack. I don't agree with you at all, plus I have my honest reasons to think that. I'll leave it at that.
20. Hard to take that seriously when you stock Sadowsky and your competitor stocks Lull.......
21. The advice about leaving them be for now, or for good, is great advice as tastes ,needs or even bonds and affinity with basses can sometimes change. However, if you absolutely have to make a decision right away, then I'd draw from my own experience when I've been in this situation - I've always kept the one that I can do the most with. Take from that want you will! Good luck.
22.
It's here! But that's for another thread...
Congrats! Look forward to that thread, bet it's sheer gold!
23.
Mark has gotten back to me, the BB can be made on trans black, as the pic above, at no extra cost
Do it, do it, do it. Quality. Pure quality. Money very well spent
