Agree with you 100% Chris. If we’re getting into it, what winds me up here is that the photo clearly shows a solid colour. but the text only states neck refin. Ambiguous adverts are such a red flag.

It’s not, I’ve seen the bass in person. Shame can’t find a better photo, looked great. Was ordered to match the Strat.

From factory yes, but Fender did sell on that guard as an aftermarket option back then, like mentioned in my post above. Her bass started with tort, but very soon after she got a new guard to match his Strat, and gold hardware too I think. Classic family photo below… Or if it was red then resprayed ignore the above.

Love the burst with aged guard. Years ago I saw another like this, belonged to the wife of Chas McDevitt, they played in a duo and ordered the guard to match his Strat, think that was in ‘59 IIRC

Yes… well in theory anyway as it is currently stored at a friends house in Berkshire because I’m preparing to move home. Please send me a direct message if you’re interested in a collection from there, we’ll see if we are able to work something out. Unfortunately shipping won’t be possible for quite a while.

They are designed to retrofit a Fender, so would be surprised if it didn’t.

The white one in 2018 wasn’t with black hardware, so I guess this has either been modded or is from the EB Vault shop. Looks great.

Modulus Flea blue flake finish question
Chiliwailer replied to SurroundedByManatees's topic in Bass Guitars
@SurroundedByManatees That’s a colour from 2008. I remember looking into this when I got a 2008 purple one. I had a pdf of the brochure but can’t find it, @hiram.k.hackenbackermay still have my paper copy? edit - may or may not been that brochure, was a while back, but I recall a print out stating green, orange and purple flake options, perhaps others too. -
Tone Hammer DI / Preamp. 3 band EQ, sweepable mids, footswitchable AGS gain circuitry for overdrive or aggressive tones. Can be used via battery, power supply, or phantom power. Pre or post EQ on the DI. Heavy duty steel construction. Ground lift switch. Good condition, works perfect. Home use only. About 10 months old but I no longer need a preamp pedal. Comes with box and Dunlop 18v power supply, which is sold separately and most importantly not a cheap noisy one. Cheers.

The Saudis expand from football and move into YouTube and music. Scott moves to the desert, earns £800k a week, and performs in traditional Saudi attire while bathed in luxury. -

Ah. Oh well, I’m sure one will pop up on eBay for £950 soon…

Contacted Fender? £8 is a bit silly for a screw (ooh er Mrs), but I think it’s the same as the string tree screw on the diagram IIRC, so Fender GBI/UK may have one? https://richtonemusic.co.uk/Fender-Pure-Vintage-Bass-String-Guide/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwriT5ZORgAMVWsHVCh3l5wdUEAQYByABEgIbUvD_BwE

Back in around 2004 an all original blond 61 stack knob was for sale in a shop I worked in. I thought it was by far the nicest vintage bass I’d played, and it started me off buying pre-cbs, albeit starting with a ‘64 refin Jazz. It sold for £10k. Then in about 2007 it came to a specialist vintage shop I was at, and again it was still the best vintage bass I’d played (IMO) felt unique and sounded huge for a Jazz. It then sold for £18k to an ex rock star that collects vintage blond Fenders - but it was then just sat in a case doing nothing ☹️
