1. If I'm the first to say it I'm probably not the first to think it.....'if only this was a right hander'

4.
I'll second that
I'll third it. Every couple of years I get gas for a Rick, y'know, black/white thing. I toddle off to Electro and play one for 5 minutes then I realise why I never bought one. Shame they look so sweet. On the Warwick thing though - hate the balance (Thumb), neck dive and weight but gotta love the sound - made me persevere.

7. You could nearly get 2 new ones for that..............
8. Pretty much been said....I swapped from 'Ray to Sterling last year and, while I occasionally hanker after the 'Ray, I don't regret the change. Plenty of tone variation, the neck is one of the fastest in the business and the balance is great. Can still get 'down and dirty' - not like a Thumb or a 2 band Ray but good enough, plus it has a bit more flexibility than the other 2. Don't worry about the colour, you want black with a black pickguard, all you need to think about is RW or maple neck.

10. Status Stealth...... Black on Black US Jazz..... Fretless Sterling................................Decisions, Decisions
11. Yup the black plate has it....................just need an unlined black Status graphite fretless neck to go on it and you could go into 'stealth mode'
12.
I know some folk shove some Bartolini Pups and Preamp into them, but to be honest I like the sound of the Stock MEC electronics, so I dont feel the need to change. Warwick's are an aquired taste - I am yet to find a Musicman bass I can get along with, yet ive never played a single warwick that has not felt "right" to date. Horses for courses and all that...
+1 on that. Love my Thumb BO4. My Sterling doesn't get out so often because it somehow takes more effort to sound 'good'. Wouldn't sell it tho' because the Warwick is so distinctive in it's sound that it won't work on everything.
13. The Hofner deserves serious respect.
14. They are so sweet, I'd be scared to play em.

17. If only this was a 4..........................
18. Don't matter how many Pups it has, it won't make much noise without strings......
19. Well we've had the 'best of' so in the best tradition of Channel 5 or Sky One what about a 'worst bassline ever'. I'll start shall I? What about Brimfull of Asha - Cornershop?
20. Very nice................any left at that price?
21. If ever there was a bass in need of a little TLC. Couple of hundred quid on a re-fin and that could look the mutts.
22. Can't touch the above, but heregoes........ Avon EBO copy - (snap Darcy) Pile of poo but got me on the road to bassdom. Thinking back it actually worked quite well in the Joy Division cover band I joined. Amazingly I used a Vox AC30 - what distortion! Fender Jap JV 57 P Bass - This was lovely. The band hated it. Kept it for about 6 years - before pxing it for a 'proper' US Jazz. Yes I was a tool... Westone Thunder 3 Fretless - Had to buy one of these after watching Henrey 'Thumb' on Rockschool. Wish I'd had the talent to play it. Fender Jazz 1982 - One of those with the 1 piece scratch plate. Had the fairly uncommon sienna red colour. Px'd this for a ....... Musicman Stingray 1990 - I'd gassed after one of these for a few years. Loved it, played many, many gigs with it before parting with it last year. Stagg 300FL Fretless - Well we all make mistakes! Decided to pick this up cheap to see if I wanted to re-enter the world of fretless - kept it for 3 weeks... Warwick Corvette Active 1995 - Liked this, the band thought the top horn looked like a D**do so after being the brunt of D*ck jokes for about a year I decided to sell this and buy a... Warwick Thumb 1996 - Less D*ck, but still the nice Warwick sound - still have this one Musicman Sterling 1994 - Well the Musicman 'Ray turned into a Sterling - still not sure whether that was a good change but I love the neck. Fender/Status Jazz Bastard Fretless - Hybrid MIM Jazz with a Status unlined Fretless neck. Well thats it. Not long to list but my rough calculation is that I must have spent more than enough considering my limited talent over the years. Still - had fun doing it (and still do).
23. Guess sometimes it depends whats needed. I love the sound of a WW Thumb but it just doesn't work on some of the stuff I have to play. Something a bit more neutral is sometimes needed to cover all genres?
24. Too many, too little time........................what about: Rio - Duran Duran Cantonese Boy - Japan It's my life - Talk Talk I Feel Good - Jimmy B Tush - ZZ Top
25. If it's got the one piece bridge it's probably a Streamer standard. Carolena body, was the base model before the Rockbass line came out IIRC.
