  1. Hi All, I was trying out my GB S/L 600 through our new Behringer XR18 digital mixer last night, taking an XLR feed from the DI out. There was an ominous silence. The amp works perfectly otherwise. The DI out was okay when we did some studio recording last September but I haven't needed to use it since. I plugged it in to another amp that we own and there was nothing there either. I know that I could mic up my speaker or use a separate DI but it is so much cleaner to use the built-in DI out. Any suggestions as to what to do next please? Thanks
  2. I'm free Captain Peacock! I wouldn't miss this for the world. Bring on the raffle!!
  3. Many thanks EBS_freak. Parts ordered. The units are 842 - 865 MHz so legal if kept in Channel 70 territory between 863 and 865.
  4. I have acquired a couple of sets of Shure PSM 700 IEMs via fleabay but they have no rack mounting hardware. I have sourced some rack ears but have no idea where to go for the fly leads and face grommets for the aerials. Can anyone please direct me to a supplier? Thanks.
  5. The in-ears won't be arriving in the UK for another 5 weeks or so. I have played around with the system at rehearsal using standard earbuds. It is good but there isn't enough isolation to really tell. Can't wait to try it all out. G
  6. Dood, Great idea! I tried it at rehearsal using my Sony PCM-M10 Linear Recorder last week and it is a revelation! Really clear reproduction. I have ordered some moulded in-ear monitors and bought a Rolls PM55P personal monitor amp. The PM55P has a mic (XLR) input and mic through output with mic/line switch, a monitor (6.35mm phone) input with option for stereo (TRS) or mono, both with adjustable level control and it can be powered by an onboard 9v battery or from a pedal board power source. I don't sing with my band so I intend to run from the DI out from my amp through the mic in/outs and the ambient from my Sony PCM into the monitor input. I hope that it works and that there isn't too much delay. I will report back. BTW, Rolls also make a PM351 which has an extra input/output for an instrument.
  7. It struck me that quite a few of us are converting to 5 strings, going by what I saw yesterday. Look out you traditionalists!

  11. Ah!! Hi Jim. Good to see that you have found your voice. You have been missed.
  12. I can offer a cockrel-shaped watering can made from folded and welded metal, finished in a tasteful brown coloured hammerite... Never been used, it was a house warming present.....
  13. Scrumpymike - I have phoned Mike Gillett and he will be coming to the bash with a selection of his beautiful acoustic basses. He asks if you would please call him on 07962 666787 to confirm details etc. Graham
  14. Hi again Scrumpymike, I know a luthier, Graham Bradshaw, who lives and works from his home in Durston, on the Taunton-Glastonbury road. He is very experienced and a lovely guy. If you look at his website he has photos of a pair of Hohner headless basses (4 string lined fretless and 5 string fretted) that he has conjoined into one instrument for a customer - Awesome! He is interested in coming along to meet us at the bash, show some of the work that he is doing atm and talk luthiery. [email protected] Graham
  15. Scrumpymike - Please update my entry on the list - I will be bringing my Ashbory bass and my mint condition Crafter BA580EQ 5 string electric acoustic bass for sale. Also, if anyone has a Fender P or P/J 5 string or a G&L 2500 I would love to try these. Ta, Graham
  16. Scrumpymike- Mike Gillett of Gillett Guitars is only just up the road near Bridgwater (I think it's Enmore) and i'm sure he would be happy to bring along his awesome acoustic basses. I had a play on some at the 2016 Bass Show. They are stunning and by far the best acoustic bass that I have tried. Mike's number is 01278 233010. [email protected] ..just a suggestion. G
