  3. I contacted LD Systems today. They expect that the U508 IEM will be available in the UK from about August and be about £300.
  4. I totally agree with all comments made regarding the SW Bass Bash. It is a terrific event. Big thanks to Scrumpy Mike, The Scrumpettes, Graham on the door, Michael Gillett, Steve Chowney, David Koenig, Phil Starr and fellow speaker techies in the "quiet" room and, of course, all you Basschatters for being so ...chatty!

  6. Mike - Just post your bank details and I will send over money asap.
  7. Many thanks. You have confirmed my thinking.
  8. Next question - I have tracked down a supplier who has access to a limited stock of Sennheiser EW300 G3 iem units @ £792, which is £47 cheaper than the similarly specced G4 units. Is it worth paying the extra for the newest variant?
  9. I have been using a second hand, ex-rental Shure PSM700 iem unit for the past year. It always sounded tinny and crackled and popped occasionally and it burned through PP3 9v batteries at an alarming rate. It finally failed on me at the NYE gig so I am looking to replace it.
  10. Hi Guys, Has anyone got experience of the JTS SIEM111 iem system? It is channel 38, metal bodied receiver, seems to have all the required technical stuff (to my untrained eye) and is priced at £460 from Sound Induction Systems - https://soundinduction.co.uk/jts-siem-111t-siem-111r-in-ear-monitoring-system-channel-38.html What do you think about it please? Ta
  11. Damn. I live near Taunton. If I had known of your predicament you could have borrowed any of my fivers, even my fave NS Designs Radius CR5.
  12. MoJoKe - you state that you “ran them in”.. Have you found that by just working the drivers in the KZs they improve somehow? I don’t understand how that would make any difference.
  13. Thanks to all for your contributions. I'll punt the suggestions to the rest of the band. Many thanks, and a Merry Xmas!!
  14. Great ideas. Keep 'em coming! (I'm not sure that the Showcase Showdown song would work for us though!)
  15. Hi, My band is looking towards Xmas gigs and discussing what songs to play. We play rock, pop and blues covers, mostly dance, with a female singer. Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody is already at the top of the list. What other songs do you play that go down well?? Ta.
  16. Oh, and I forgot to say that at rehearsal on Tuesday, the guitarists asked me to turn up my volume (a first!!) as they could't hear me properly in the mix. I was so comfortable with my own in-ear volume that I didn't check the level coming from my cab! Behringer have developed X-Air control apps for the XR18 which work on tablets and laptops but nothing for iPhones. Understandable really as the control surface is very small. However, I have discovered an app which works on my iPhone that permits adjustment of just the monitor mixes and volumes, nothing to the main mix etc. I tried it out on Tuesday and it works very well. I can select any of the monitor mixes and adjust them from the stage which saves complex and confusing hand waving to the sound engineer between songs. A quick chat between us on stage and I can alter the settings as required. It's called XAir Monitor Mixer by Eric Tetz. £3.99.
  17. I am still awaiting my KZ ZS10s. They are probably on a slow boat from China.I got them as demos in the hope that I can persuade the others in the band to go the in-ear route. I used my own InEarz P450s for the first time at a gig last Friday as my band has now got a Behringer XR18 digital mixer and someone who knows how to use it! Multiple monitor outs meant that we could all have an individual mix, although the others used floor monitors. For me, it was excellent, with clear reception and a true revelation. I could hear my vocals so could pitch and as I took my signal from the amp to the mixer to my inears, my bass reproduction was clear and uncoloured. It was so clear that I had to visually double check a few times that I was fretting the notes correctly as it sounded almost a half fret out as I was playing up the dusty end of the neck. I reset the intonation on my bass last night as it was slightly off so that was probably the reason. We're gigging again this Saturday so I can check that again. Well happy.
  18. I found some ZS10 s on ebay and ordered a set. £32.10. Delivery 1st May to 1st June.
  19. Apparently they don't ship to the UK. Any suggestions as to how I can get hold of a couple of sets?
  20. A huge THANK YOU to Mike and his faithful crew. I had a splendid day, played with lots of great gear, chatted with fellow low register addicts and had a tasty lunch as well....all for £10!! As always, Jabba's builds were top drawer. I fell in love with the fretless. If only it was a five string....There may just be a commission coming his way. I was also pleasantly surprised that my Genz Benz Focus 12 cab was reviewed very favourably by the guys in the techie room. I won't be selling that in a long while then. Nice to meet you all. See you next year.
  21. I purchased a Pedaltrain pedalboard from Tobiewharton. Easy, swift transaction and quick replies to PMs. It cam by tracked courier and the board was exceedingly well packed.
