1.
As this is already a post on strings, I'm just gonna be cheeky and tag onto it rather than make a whole new post. I need to restring my Tanglewood, badly [it's buzzing when I play cause the strings are so old] and was after some Rotosound jazz strings. Are they flexible or pretty stiff? I've never used them but I'm pretty sure the strings I have on now are Rotosound, just not the jazz ones. When they're not old they sound great but they're a little stiff, I'm after something with a little more bend to it if that makes sense?
I am a huge Rotosound fan but am currently enjoying the D'addario EXP strings so nice and soft on the fingers I was never a huge D'addario fan as I once tried there steels and did not get on with them but these EXP coated strings are lush and they are slightly lighter tension than Rotos but all I can say is buy a decent brand of strings as I experimented with lots of cheaper brand strings and most of them were rubbish

 5.
Hi Boost will certainly get you more out put but I think you need to look at either a rotary EQ like the Aphex bass exciter or a Graphic EQ. I can't see a boost fattening your sound. Try a cheap Behringer graphic EQ and see if you get the sound the sound you want and then go from there. You could do it even more cheaply by playing with your EQ on your amp, obviously depending on how good your amp is? Before you buy anything though have a look at some of the suggestions I made on you tube and see if any of those reviews gives you something close to what your after. Good luck :-))
Cheers mate that is great stuff youtube here I come
 6. Thanks for that Reversebird very good post I think the boost of my clean signal is what I would like to do I have tried a bit of overdrive with not getting the results I wanted I was really hoping to make my clean signal sound fatter and fuller so want to keep my sound but enrich it a bit
 7.
Just weighed this, and it's around 6 kilos.
bloody hell that is 13lbs are you sure it is not 6lbs instead of 6 kilo as that sounds very heavy for one of these
 8. I have an active bass and would like to beef it up a bit without changing the pre amp or pick ups as they sound good but just need a bit more beef so can I use a pre amp pedal like the Behringer BDI21 to do this or will it play havoc with an active bass? thanks in advance
 9. Just bought a foot switch from Simon it was as described and Simon is a good chap do deal with the whole thing went just perfectly Cheers mate

 11. He says solder is covering the numbers on the pots up seems a bit suspect to me And home come the poles have been raised on the G string like that? is it to give it more volume?

 14.
I did mention it to him when I first got it, but didn't reply. I might drop him another message. And yea I have already sent an email to Glockenklang, so hopefully if it's as good as you say they might sell me some.
Might be worth doing that and hopefully he may reply this time Just thought Wilkinsons (the high st shop chain) sell quite a few little bags of screws and odd sized washers etc may be worth looking in there
